Why are progressive leaders selling us out? It is shameful that our "so-called progressive" civic leaders are unwilling to speak out against our city becoming the headquarters for a war bank that will only bring death and destruction while making the rich richer. @350canada.bsky.social #topoli
A slide that reads, "A City for whom? An election is a chance to shape our collective future, so why are our leaders selling us out to the highest bidder? Recently, our municipal leaders have shown their support for Toronto to be headquarters to the proposed Defence, Security and Resilience Bank (DSRB). The DSRB would divert public money away from essential services towards weapons manufacturers to facilitate a rapid expansion of military production. In short, the DSRB is a war bank that will further death and destruction in the name of economic benefit. However, economic development cannot come at the cost of our souls. It is truly shameful that our "progressive" leaders would rather hide their head in the sand while continuing to ignore the fact that the DSRB would all but guarantee a war-filled future and the continued genocide of oppressed communities across the world, especially in Palestine, Southern Lebanon, and Sudan. Toronto deserves leaders who have the moral backbone to fight for a collective future where all our neighbours are cared for, both at home and abroad. We need leaders who are open to criticism and who are willing to admit when they are wrong, so that we can move forward in collaboration towards a better tomorrow."

I believe a City Councillor should meet their neighbours where they are rather than asking them to come to you! You deserve a city for you, by you and your City Councillor should show the effort to lead by example rather than by direction. #topoli #toronto #election #vote

We need to make sure Toronto remains not just affordable, but a place where young people can afford to achieve their dreams.

Today we honour the survivors of the residential school system, their families and communities, and the Indigenous Peoples whose histories and experiences continue to shape our communities. #NDTR #everychildmatters #mmiwg #topoli
A slide that reads, "Today we honour the survivors of the residential school system, their families and communities, and the Indigenous Peoples whose histories and experiences continue to shape our communities.

As settlers who seek to work towards reconciliation, we all bear responsibility for the enduring harm caused by the residential school system. Listening, reflection, and remembrance means nothing if we continue to conduct ourselves in support of colonial ideals and values.

Reconciliation requires that we actively work to dismantle the colonial systems of structural racism and cultural genocide that continue to harm Indigenous Peoples across the country. This means taking concrete action to the inequities inherited from past wrongs, such as the overrepresentation of Indigenous people in the criminal justice system, inadequate access to education, and socio-economic disparities.

Together, we can build a country where these injustices are always remembered but never repeated."

As City Councillor, I am committed to opening an expanded network of city-run grocery stores & community food canteens to better provide affordable groceries & prepared meals so that all of our neighbours can afford to eat and live well. 🥘 🍞 #toronto #topoli #elections #food
A slide that reads "Andi on Affordability, Feeding Our Ward".A slide that reads "City Operated Grocery Stores. As City Councillor, I will ensure that City Hall fulfils its commitment to open city-run grocery stores! Major grocery corporations continue to make record profits while people are forced to choose between feeding themselves or affording daily essentials.

Through leveraging the City's ability to purchase foodstuffs and fresh produce in bulk to provide alternative affordable grocery options, it will force corporate grocery stores to lower their prices in response to shifting market demand. "Places like the Sumac Food Centre, which is comprised of a community garden & kitchen, work to provide affordable & nutritious meals to the community.

Expanding on this, I will push for city-run canteens to provide affordable meals for all residents, especially for our youth, elderly residents, and our neighbours experiencing homelessness.

As the cost-of-living rises, residents shouldn't have to worry about whether they can keep affording to get around. Instead of a fare capping system that only benefits some residents, I am committed to making the TTC a fare-free system that will serve all residents equally. #TOpoli #toronto #ttc
Andi on Public Transportation: Expanding Affordable TTC FaresA Fare-Free Future. The TTC is an essential service for all residents. It's how Torontonians access education, work, and community across the City. Though the City is introducing a monthly fare-capping program, the program itself only benefits a small segment of residents - those who are taking trips at least 12 times a week. For the people who need flexibility and affordability upfront, the loss of daily/weekly passes and the group passes often used by families are not properly substituted by this program. In order to meet the transit needs of residents, the City needs to commit to working towards a fare-free future. A Fare-Free Future. A fare-free transit system would increase ridership while mitigating traffic congestion, reducing operating costs by eliminating the need for front line revenue protection, and reducing the City's carbon footprint. As your City Councillor, I am committed to advocating for fare-free transit for all, starting with an expansion of the TTC's free-fare program to include youth up to 19 years old and to lower the age of eligibility for the senior fare category to 55 years old. This initiative, in combination with a sustained fare freeze, will provide the momentum and support framework needed to transition towards a fare-free transit system. Get Involved. There is no one solution to making our communities safer. Instead, community safety is a joint responsibility between residents, community organisations, and governments. Swipe to learn how we better support and address the vulnerabilities that we face as a ward! ➡️ #TOpoli #toronto #safehomes
A slide that reads "Andi on Community Investment, Community Safety & Wellbeing".A slide that reads "Safer Neighbourhoods. By approaching community safety as a joint responsibility between residents, community organisations, and governments we can better support and address the vulnerabilities that we face as a ward.

Safe communities can't be achieved by relying solely on the Toronto Police Service.

Instead, we must collaborate across sectors and society to take a preventative and proactive approach to community safety. By doing so we can make sure that threats to the community can be stopped before they balloon."A slide that reads: "Safer Neighbourhoods. Feeling safe in our homes begins with:

Reinforcing community-based mental health support by strengthening the ability of the Toronto Community Crisis Service to provide greater front-line mental health care.

For those who face gender-based violence, intimate partner violence, and youth social conflict, having first responders who understand these sensitive situations are key to reducing community violence.

Making it easier to host community social events and expanding free and low-cost recreational opportunities to help foster greater social cohesion which has been shown to reduce crime rates and improve safety."A slide that reads "Get Involved.
