A nice & somber episode of #Lanterns that brings us into the 2026 timeline. I’m curious to see where the mystery goes now, especially with what happened to Hal & how it relates to the 2016 timeline. A slow episode that gears us up for the final two episodes. Nice to see Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner

The art of the movie poster is not what it once was. Not saying all movie posters are bad, but the majority of them are quite generic. Posters like this film and for The Exorcist and Jaws (for example) sold you a film perfectly. Now most of the time, it’s just floating heads

that's right, Bruce Campbell www.mensjournal.com/entertainmen...

When asked how it’s been for him to see the series transform since its indie beginnings way back in 1981 with director Sam Raimi, Campbell revealed his one issue with the recent installments.

“I’d like more humor back in. The three features have been mostly humorless, and I personally have a problem with that,” he said, echoing a sentiment shared among some of the franchise’s fans. “There’s no point for these to get too grim. You can be scary without being grim.”

“A little more humor wouldn’t kill you,” he added. “And one hero that you really can root for. Ash is an idiot, but you want him to survive.”

“Modern filmmakers love to color their movies like a David Fincher movie, like a hospital room, you know?” Campbell continued. “Gray-green, like a garage. Garage lighting. And so, okay, it’s a choice. It’s not mine. I think even a horror movie can look pretty. Why not throw them off? Make it all look pretty and wonderful, and then let them have it.”

#SpiderManBrandNewDay benefits from Destin Daniel Cretton’s direction & the performances of its cast. Tom Holland gives his best performance as Peter Parker/Spider-Man & the action is vibrantly energetic plus well shot. But the inconsistent pacing & lack of a proper villain lets the film down.

Today’s agreement is great news for audiences, movie theaters, and the many people who write, build, and create the art, news, and entertainment so many of us enjoy.

Attorney General Bonta Secures Deal Halting Warner Bros./ Paramount Merger Until June 2027 or Court Ruling

"Our argument against this illegal merger is straightforward: When too few corporations have too much power in markets central to American life, it makes things more expensive, and it makes things worse"

Had a #NormanJewison double bill tonight. Excellent films. He knew how to tackle some very heavy & important thought provoking themes in his films. Particularly with In The Heat of the Night, plus And Justice For All. I do like how he didn’t stick to one genre when directing #filmsky #moviesky

Nothing groundbreaking or something I would consider a part of Sidney Lumet’s best work. But Q&A is an effective & strong cop drama dealing with police corruption. Great performances from Timothy Hutton, Nick Nolte & Armand Assante. Sidney Lumet knew how to shoot a film so diligently & efficiently

Just finished Michael Mann’s Ali. Michael Mann maybe is a stylish & visually impressive director. However I think with his big boxing epic about the life of Muhammad Ali, he bites off a bit more than he could chew. A flawed film, but still an enjoyable & often rousing film. #NowWatching #Moviesky

Profoundly disturbing & it should be classed as a horror film. Tremendous voiceover work by Timothy Buttons in the hospital scenes. Quite disturbing & hard to watch. Surreal & visceral. We’re really put in the mind of a broken man who is a prisoner in their own body. An effective anti-war film

Seeing both Kill Bill films in the cinema was a lot of fun. They still work together as two separate films. Vol.2 is still not as strong as Vol.1. It lacks the first film’s momentum & dynamic energy. The very slow pace & dialogue heavy scenes do bring the film slightly down. Still, worth a watch
