I love all the girlies in the series, Mariko is one of my favorites she is super sweet by nature but ofc has issues of her own and when all hit at the same time, she breaks down for a while but gets to mature and eventually recover. Mariko is quite a complex character, I adore her!

Based on this doodle I found. Sculpt took around 2.5 hours and I used it to test toon shaders with arnold to make the outline and half-tone effect 😊

It's a design very outside of my comfort zone, I couldn't find many references online but I have Nobuteru Yuki's art book and worked from there 💖 I'm quite happy with the results 💪 I want to do a facial rig and add the coat sometime~

2️⃣ u may need to get more needles since they should be changed after 5-6 hours of use or it could cause issues like getting stuck. And I would recommend using polyester embroidery thread, since regular cotton thread is fragile and looks dull, plus is probably better to get a spool than floss.

1️⃣ That's a nice machine, if it has zig-zag stitch you can adjust the length & width and do satin lines (pic 1) If you do want full control, good thing about Singer is that usually the accesories from the brand work even on old models or you can find generic ones for cheap (pic 2)

I would first draw the pattern with an erasable pen/marker. If doing it by hand, use a hoop and satin stitch. If the fabric is stretchy use a water-soluble stabilizer as backing If you have a sewing machine u can get a free-motion presser foot, lower the feed dogs and go slowly~ Practice on scraps!
