The K-wires are out, the cast is off and physio begins. Who knew the little Earth beanie from Project Hail Mary that I crocheted would actually turn out to be a therapeutic aid? Very limited wrist, hand and thumb movement at the mo but will hopefully improve as I do the exercises

I'd go back to Iceland in a heartbeat. Stunning country with the most gorgeous landscape I've seen. It was about 7 degrees C when we went so warming up in the car with hot chocolate with my best friends was the best thing ever

Lovely friend got me this book and it's a treasured possession. Went to Iceland in 2023 and absolutely fell in love with it! Made the Learned Lopi a few weeks ago and it was such a fun knit. Next big project will be the dress, off to a yarn fest in July so choosing the yarn from there 🧶

I broke my non-dom wrist and had to have it wired into place, so the arm is in a cast with very limited movement. I have seen some gorgeous embroidery and cross stitch patterns that I'd love to make so a clamp sounds like a great idea! I have a table I could fix it to, what are your recommendations?

Surgery completed, arm is still well out of action for the next few weeks (and have quite a numb thumb) so regular knitting is off the cards :( Anyone know of any good one-armed knitting aides? 🧶

Oh no 😂 Hope it wasn't too painful a recovery? I was playing football with colleagues, casual after work thing, went into goal, tried to stop a super powerful shot and failed 😅 Just got unlucky with where it hit I think! Displaced radial fracture 😬

Thankfully have a tablet I can play games and make art on - I'm right-handed so thankfully still quite functional one-handedly. Picked up Baba Is You and it's fantastic (and a real brain bender), and doing some Project Hail Mary art to keep myself from getting bored 😅

One of my absolute favourites projects to date - the Learned Lopi, also by Toni Carr, from Lopapeysa. Made with merino and just so much fun to make, the waist shaping is super flattering and it fits like a glove 🧶

I would say so! It only uses knit and purl stitches and is knitted on straight needles then sewn together. I didn't have the right size circular needles for other patterns so was glad to find this one. Think most DK yarns would work very nicely with it 😊
