Captain of the West Lancashire and Border Towns Union. Got sent this image of a photo to try and identify him. 25% in my view could be Charlie Holt of Wigan (1885) or J. Warren of Warrington (1886) who captained versus Westmorland. The provenance of the back story suggests it could be Warren

For a moment I felt like Jim Slevin! Probably the first Wiganer since Jim to hold this trophy aloft in the guise of the West Lancs Cup! Oh to be in 1890! #RugbyHistory #SocialHistory

£50,000 worth of silverware 🏆 The West Lancashire and Border Towns Union (as it was, minus lid, for now) trophy and the Lancashire Cup (RU) First played for in 1885/6 Wigan won it twice and came runners up once. One of the most important trophies in Rugby of either code. ❤️ Jim Slevin be proud
