Knitting. And music, cats, alpacas, bright colours, tea, vegetarian food. Living on unceded territory (but never in one place for long).

When you decide to walk home without factoring in the fact that it’s a two-hour walk and you have a full bladder… the perfect opportunity to knit in public might just present itself partway.
A splotchy concrete floor, bar stools in the distance, a bright pink Croc winter boot, navy blue leggings, and most importantly, in the bottom foreground, a tweedy dark blue hat halfway knit, no crown yet. It is being knit on circular needles, and features the occasional marled light blue stripes.

On a train fold-down table, there is a ball of variegated turquoise yarn, behind which one can see the start of a hat knit in the same yarn. On their right, there is a deep blue thermal flask with purple-blue teapots on it.

Had to unravel the hat twice, because it was big enough for three heads, then two. I think it’s the right circumference now!
On a blue and white Welsh blanket (woven squares, sort of), there is a variegated turquoise ball of yarn and the beginning of a top-down hat knit in that yarn. The crown of the hat occupies the top left, and the ball is underneath, leaning towards the right.

Remember that a mask does more than protect against covid. A well fitted respirator will also keep you safe from flu, measles, TB and other airborne viruses. It will keep those around you safe if you’re sick. It’s an easy way to demonstrate community care and solidarity.

And now some ER knitting. (I’m not in mortal peril, but I can’t get an appointment with a doctor, so the ER it is. The public healthcare system is a mess, for patients and healthcare professionals.)
The beginning of a top-down variegated blue and turquoise hat lies on someone’s lap. The crown faces the bottom of the frame, with increases heading off in forth directions, like a reverse T. Circular needles are visible at the top.

Train knitting.
On a cream coloured canvas bag, there lies most of a multicoloured handknit shawl: fuchsia, red, blue, turquoise. A circular needle is also visible.

This is what I am knitting now. Amazing yarn by Bona Yarns. Pattern is #CloseToYou by Justyna Lorkowska/Letesknits. It has been several days since I knit, but I look forward to continuing tomorrow! 🧶
On a pale yellow background lies a multicolour cake of yarn, over which is placed the very beginning of a hand knit shawl. Circular needles are visible next to it on the left. The yarn colours are fuchsia, red of various depths, blue, and purple. The fuchsia provided flashes of bright colour, but the jewel tones are overall quite distinguished.

I’m here to share my knitting. 🧶 My latest finished object is Forward by Julie Knits in Paris. Here is a close-up of it pre-blocking.
A close-up of a handknit cowl. At the top, fuchsia, and variegated orange, yellow and pink yarn are combined into wavy brioche. Below, the same colours are used for stranded colourwork, with fuchsia chevrons appearing over the variegated colours. At the bottom, the fuchsia yarn is used to make a solid brioche rib.
