i hate to see fellow operators suffer from overload, likely due to AI warlords wanting to destroy our world, but there is some irony in seeing GitLab.com failing to load a single issue but still managing to confirm there is no "agent sessions" for the […] [Original post on kolektiva.social]

i did a back-of-a-napkin check and we've had 19 linux-kernel security advisories in Debian since the start of 2026, and we're only halfway through.
scerenshot of a terminal showing the command: notmuch search --format=json 'to:debian-security-announce and subject:linux -subject:util-linux' | jq .[].timestamp | while read ts; do date -I -d "@$ts"; done | sed 's/\([^-]*\)-.*/\1/' | uniq -c

and the result:

i probably shared this one already, but i have just finished building a digital version of a 300+ printed photo album just now, and it's so much work that i feel i need to share *something* out of it (the whole album can't be shared publicly because it's too personal)
night cityscale consisting of Montreal's iconic "FARINE FIVE ROSE" warehouse with the "bonaventure" freeway snaking around it, with car lights dragging on it due to a long exposure. the Samuel-de-Champlain bridge over the Saint-Lawrence river is being built in the background.

here's one of my favorite b/w of that doomed year (2020)
an underpass empty of cars or life, at night. over the road a graffiti seems to made of stickers and reads TRASHIN THE PLANET ONE CAR AT A TIME

one of the projects COVID broke is a black-and-white calendar i was planning, but never finished, here's one shot that i took in the rain right before my X-T2 shutdown, turns out it's not as waterproof as i thought (it recovered, thanks to a food dehydrator)
urban industrial landscape... a cliff in the back that's actually a train track with power posts lining the background... on the right, a sidewalks disappears in the distance, next to a 5-story factory lined with garage doors... leaf-less trees seem out of place, and in front, a one-way sign takes up most of the space, bent sideways with the arrow pointing at the ground, broken in the dead grass

a sunset from a highway, with, in the foreground, the side line painted lined up with the fence and a tree in front of power lines, ambiance is dark, yet colorful and hopeful

one thing i find frustrating is even though wading through that thread is a huge trigger for people vulnerable to trolls, racists and general ignorance, there's an overwhelming majority of people expressing themselves against the sponsorship […] [Original post on kolektiva.social]

that thread is, incredibly, still going at it, pretty much rehashing the same "it's just a laptop" vs "uh, no?" rhetoric. it's now the second top thread by replies, and in the top 30 for the number of views, all time.
the Framework community forum "All time" top threads, sorted by number of replies, with "Framework sponsoring far-right racists?" second with 1.3k replies (and 67k views), only behind "Uneven CPU thermals?" from the FW16 launch (with 1.4k replies, 32k views)
