For today, I thought I would repost something I originally posted on my Instagram (anais.garnett) - a "what's in my characters' bags?" I've only included the protagonists here, but if you're curious, I added the bags of some secondary characters in the original post on Instagram!

Shows the character Willow's bag (an old satchel) in which one can find: classified documents she definitely shouldn't have, a magnifying glass, her keys, spare bobbles, her notebook and pen, the daily paper, and a carrier cup of black coffee.

Shows the character Delilah's bag (crocheted by her) in which one can find: just way too much junk. There are tarot cards, stickers, leaves, a jar full of buttons, acorns, a book on identifying stars, stones, a notebook for sketching, crayons... there's even a frog or two.

Shows the character Robin's bag (well, actually they just use the pockets of their leather jacket) in which one can find: a packet of marbolo reds and lighter, a switchblade, flowers from Delilah, pocket trash, old candy, and something that looks awfully close to a joint...

Comps can be confusing, so I want to talk a little more about them and why they're important. Comps are sometimes used in query letters to give agents a vibe—e.g. "It's The Princess Bride but in space." This is fun and works great for marketing copy later when the 1/ #RevPit #RevPitWaiting
