Ha! I got it done. Sort of. My first horror short story chapbook is available to buy! For now, it’s only on Ko-Fi, until I find the energy to list it elsewhere, and for now I only have shipping set for Canada and the UK (but please don’t hesitate to message me if you want it and you’re elsewhere).

One full minute of me hatching the individual bark ridges on the tree in the background of this drawing… (File under: it seemed like a good idea at the time.)

Top surgery recovery mode activated. I’m going to be reading and watching movies a lot.

Nico Silver | Nik Sylvan @anagramforink.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

Forgot to post this here! I finished my horror short story chapbooks! Yay! Now to figure out how I’m going to sell them.

010

Nico Silver | Nik Sylvan @anagramforink.bsky.social · 11/09/2026

I have to take pictures of the rest of the work in my show, so here are some shots of everything on the wall at the gallery instead.

Today’s piece from my solo show: Raven Witch. 2-block linocut on paper, about 8 x 10 inches.

Another piece that’s in my show this month. “The Wolf and the Siren.” 3-block linocut in shades of grey.

Nico Silver | Nik Sylvan @anagramforink.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

The last of the six mini linocuts I made recently, currently up at my solo show. (Tomorrow, I’ll start posting more of the larger prints.)

011

Nico Silver | Nik Sylvan @anagramforink.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

Colours for the horror short story chapbooks I’m working on. Pages will be digitally printed on the top paper (cotton bond), the endpapers will be this gorgeous brown marbled paper, and the covers will be hand-printed lino on the bottom paper (Stonehenge kraft cotton printmaking paper).

The other day an old lady saw this print from my show in the window and popped into the gallery to ask if I’d ever been to Cerne Abbas to see the giant in person. I said had not, but it was on my list of places to visit one day.

Here I am, camping in one of the most beautiful places on earth, and what I really want to be doing is working on printing the cover of the horror short story chapbook I’m releasing in October. 😂

Nico Silver | Nik Sylvan @anagramforink.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

Oh yeah, I guess I can post this now. 😂

051

Nico Silver | Nik Sylvan @anagramforink.bsky.social · 12/08/2026

Second grey down. Now just the black to go, but that will have to wait till Sunday.

010

Nico Silver | Nik Sylvan @anagramforink.bsky.social · 11/08/2026

I’m being extra anti-genAI today and printing my murder selkie linocut without even using a press.

020

Nico Silver | Nik Sylvan @anagramforink.bsky.social · 10/08/2026

Three-block selkie linocut ready to proof.

051

Nico Silver | Nik Sylvan @anagramforink.bsky.social · 08/08/2026

All set up at the Vancouver Island Pagan Pride fair in Campbell River. If you look closely, you may see some new work I haven’t shown before (except the odd in progress shot).

010

Nico Silver | Nik Sylvan @anagramforink.bsky.social · 07/08/2026

(Almost) last minute fair prep. I’m wrapping mini lino prints in glassine to put in my tiny cardboard vending machine.

020

Nico Silver | Nik Sylvan @anagramforink.bsky.social · 05/08/2026

Just when I was thinking maybe I could join the HWA because I have some horror short stories published, this happens. (The article is a very good response.)

000

Nico Silver | Nik Sylvan @anagramforink.bsky.social · 04/08/2026

Oh yeah, forgot to post the finished deity mini prints.

030

Nico Silver | Nik Sylvan @anagramforink.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

Sneak peek at my new linocut. I’ll be cutting out most of the chatter, but this is a glimpse before I proof.

010

Nico Silver | Nik Sylvan @anagramforink.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

These six tiny deities are getting printed tomorrow and will come with me to Campbell River for the Pagan Fair next weekend, where I’ll be selling art.

020

Nico Silver | Nik Sylvan @anagramforink.bsky.social · 26/07/2026

I can finally post this! I made this linocut for my partner for his birthday. I don’t usually make fanart, but he’s a huge Godzilla fan.

Nico Silver | Nik Sylvan @anagramforink.bsky.social · 25/07/2026

I just found out that a framed “Pan Waiting for Daphnis,” currently at the Sooke Fine Arts Show, sold during the purchaser’s preview last night. Woo hoo!

Nico Silver | Nik Sylvan @anagramforink.bsky.social · 20/07/2026

Planning the two grey blocks for this print.

031

Nico Silver | Nik Sylvan @anagramforink.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

Just a little doodle for a border design.

020

Nico Silver | Nik Sylvan @anagramforink.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

It’s hard to do a proper reveal peel when you can see the ink through the paper. 😂 Anyway, key block proofed. I’ll fiddle with it a bit, but otherwise it’s on to grey.

010

Nico Silver | Nik Sylvan @anagramforink.bsky.social · 14/07/2026

Making progress on this selkie. No idea why I decided to cut the background first; I usually do it the other way around.

021

Nico Silver | Nik Sylvan @anagramforink.bsky.social · 13/07/2026

Finally back to work on my selkie linocut.

022

Nico Silver | Nik Sylvan @anagramforink.bsky.social · 11/07/2026

Obviously I need to decorate it, but it works perfectly! Now to make some tokens…

040

Nico Silver | Nik Sylvan @anagramforink.bsky.social · 11/07/2026

I caved and bought a little cardboard vending machine for selling mini prints at craft fairs. Yes, I could have figured out how to make one myself from scrap cardboard, but this was easier. If it works really well, I might scale it up and make one for short story chapbooks.

020

Nico Silver | Nik Sylvan @anagramforink.bsky.social · 08/07/2026

If you’ve read my Fictive Kin series (Daughter of Foxes, etc), you’ll know that Magne (hot werewolf neighbour) has two older brothers.

Holy shit I’m getting top surgery in September!

040

Nico Silver | Nik Sylvan @anagramforink.bsky.social · 21/06/2026

All set up at our local Pride festival. If you’re in Duncan, the parade is on now and vendors are here until 4.

010

Nico Silver | Nik Sylvan @anagramforink.bsky.social · 17/06/2026

Instead of writing or printing as I should be today, I’m making cover mockups for a collection of short horror stories I’m nowhere near ready to release. (And I’ve been thinking about submitting it to small presses first, anyway.)

This right here has made my day (from Instagram):

Image reads: pnwgothicmag mentioned you in a reel: Cascadian Gothic: An Anthology of the Strange and Coastal, edited by
Kim Bannerman
(@kimber.bannerman), is a slim (at only 93 pages) anthology of Pacific Northwest Gothic fiction. 10 authors bring the chills and thrills in this collection, but my favorite story was
"The Mirror of Her Face" by Nico Silver (@nicosilverbooks) - a story rich in identity, gothic atmosphere, and the Pacific Northwest's lush scenery.
