*Sigh of relief* 😌 One of my favourite days because clock mind games are over for another year! For 6 months timetables don't lie, meetings are back to the scheduled time, and you don't have to pretend it's an hour later than it really is. Happy days. And... it's light because it really is 0654!!
Shingle beach with colourful wooden beach huts and wooden groynes. The sky is partly pale orange pink due to it being sunrise. The sea is wavy

Poster with purple background and a parent and child walking. Both have bags and look happy. The poster says Shape Gosport's Cycling and Walking Future. Have your say on walking, cycling, and wheeling in our town. There is a QR code, website link snd logos for Walk Wheel Cycle Trust, Hampshire county council and Gosport Borough council. It looks like a poster created by real people instead. The poster is on a large screen on a pavement. In the background is a road junction with buildings. It is overcast and wet

Lunchtime walk by the Solent felt like half battling against the F7 north-westerlies and half being pushed along by it! Thankfully Lee-on-the Solent & Saltern's coast paths aren't too bad on windy days. Hill Head on the other hand is best avoided... 😬
High tide witu waves going over the concrete breakwater thingy with a tall triangle marker. There is vegetated shingle which looks grassy and shingle beyond it. The Isle of Wight is visible and it is overcast.

Water refill stations are one of the forgotten facilities for travel & recreation. Like benches etc there aren't enough in most places but they're great, even if running errands! Hill Head has 4(!) and I find the taps at some train stations helpful as it saves weight to not pack as much water.
Water refill station with a plastic box underneath. It is metal and attached to the ground with a push button tap. Not like the newer, taller refill stations. It has a green sticker with a tern to mark the Solent Way. Behind is a grey beach hut, shingle, and the sea.

Two shingle spits or islands with mixed flock of Gulls roosting on them. Their mantles are varying shades of grey - Lesser Black-backed Gulls being the darkest, slate coloured, and others paler grey. Some are young birds and are still brown. The sea looks blue and sea state is probably moderate

May live in Hants, but rarely venture this far west, so to see The Needles twice in c. 5 weeks is rare! 😄 #Solent
The Narrows - the narrowest section of the Solent between The Needles on the Isle of Wight and Hurst Spit. The Needles are visible of the left but don't look very needle like. There is a narrow red and white lighthouse with them. The cliffs on the island are steep and chalk. At the top is a building - where we were a month ago! On the right is Hurst Castle and a white lighthouse. They are on a long shingle spit. The sea is fairly calm and there is a yellow buoy. Clear skies Close up of the Needles and cliff with a couple of white sailing boats with open sails Distant photo of the Needles and Isle of Wight as we leave (or approach) Lymington with the Marshes and seawall in the foreground.
