I get so, so self-conscious whenever I make video content but one of my goals this year was to post more on YouTube! I’ve been quietly posting bits there all year so if you like artist vlogs & bits, considering checking it out! youtu.be/7ZXAFWKKqe0?...

Feel like every Irish artist I know is struggling hard with the BIA application and what is or isn’t correct to present as proof. I’m second-guessing everything I’ve done since 2019 but I struggle with the sort of language attached to these things regardless. How’s everyone here doing?

I actually like Dublin but it really feels like the city is actively trying to ruin itself sometimes. Like, the Complex is perfectly positioned, accommodates a huge variety of events and gives opportunities for creatives like why on earth can this be happening

Amy Louise @amylouioc.bsky.social · 04/12/2025

The Complex, one of the last large arts and cultural spaces in Dublin City Centre are getting evicted on Jan 14th. I cannot emphasize enough how much of a blow this will be to the arts community in Ireland. Please sign the petition if you can, it takes only a minute! my.uplift.ie/petitions/sa...

Thinking on this again because my intentions are to finally script a graphic novel I’ve had in my brain for 4 years. But, I’ve been flip flopping over whether to challenge myself to write the comic script or just write the story in full like a novel and break down from there

Curious to know if NaNoWriMo exists in some shape or form this November? I know the website shut down but I’d still like to do some form of informal version to kickstart some projects

Hate encountering things outside my little bubble. Like the subsection of people that are really against the basic income for the arts. Like I know there’s lots else to fund but it’s all different pots lads. Apples and oranges!

Sort of crazy to live in a country that most people are actively trying to emigrate from at all times yet in international artist spaces, people are wishing they could live here for the basic income, surreal. It’s lovely to see but also lads, don’t fall for it. It won’t cover your rent!

I’ve been running Dog Man workshops recently and I love making the kids extremely confused by explaining that Captain Underpants came out when I was a kid. I think in their heads, the presumption has been that Dav Pilkey is super young for some reason so it’s funny to watch their heads explode

No matter how many times I read it, I’m forever obsessed with the truly, truly random Michael Collins pivot in the wiki for Clíodhna the Queen of the Banshees. Like not even a confirmation, a possibility that he knew of her!
