Met a girlfriend at the mall this morning so I had a second opinion for buying something to wear to my interview Tuesday. The company is super casual but obviously for an interview I can't wear my stretchy skinny jeans. Got a nice pair of flare leg black trousers, and a pair of tapered ankle length.

Like I told my case worker this morning, this ain't my first rodeo. She looked at my file and said "yeah, you could probably teach that class, so I get it."

In my interview on Tuesday, he asked a question about AI and if I use it in my work. I answered that I understand AI could automate a few things to ease my workload and I may look into them, but for the most part I actually enjoy using my own brain to solve a problem. And I get it, I do. But there's no way to opt out of these things even tho I did the same exact program 5 years ago when I lost my job because of the pandemic. It's just even more work, because tracking applications on their website is tedious and detailed. Anyway, sigh.

I HAVE to apply to at least 2 jobs a wk & do one additional "job search activity"-networking meeting, job fair, etc. I also had to have this orientation call & schedule one educational class- resume writing, how to apply to jobs online, interview tips. I've done them before & they're so basic level

This morning I had my orientation call with my case worker. I'm trying to explain to her that the career link job board does not really provide jobs with the level of salary I need at this point in my career. Like, I'm not looking for a job as a dishwasher at a nursing home making $10/hr.

So for those of you in PA who haven't ever had to file unemployment, there are requirements that you register with PA careerlink to prove that you are indeed searching for work, or they will revoke your unemployment money. You have to track your applications, interviews, & other job search activity

It's ok. Since it was my very first attempt this round, I hardly expected it to happen that fast. There's a lot more irons in the fire.

So the company I interviewed with last week totally lied when they told me they were "early" in their process. I got a message from the temp agency today that they said they made an offer to another candidate today. That's funny if they hadn't even started formal face-to-face interviews last week. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Just had a coffee date with a friend who is a career/life coach. She always has a way of centering me, even if my intention was just to catch up with her. She asked me some good questions and helped me frame my job search. I'm on the right path so far. It was good to get some validation. Yay me.

I can't tell you how excited I was last week when I looked up and saw that Blue Heron just chilling in the creek.

This one is a little less hybrid than the Southpointe job, 1 day a week at home, but there are some other interesting perks here like catered lunch Mondays and annual bonus program, annual staff trip, and dog friendly office. It's a new position 75%supporting the chief client officer, 25% HR stuff.

Phone screen for a company on Greentree just finished. He told me 10 minutes in that they're definitely bringing me in for an interview he just had to ask the questions to check off the boxes. Will be meeting next Tuesday with the executive I would be supporting and one or two other key people.🤞🏼

Where do you live? The guy who just did mine was based in Washington and it was a haul for him to come all the way here, but he was great. He even cut $ off since it didn't take as long as he thought, and he's coming back in the spring to finish some other things.

This is good! For me, it's telling me that this is a time for closure of the situationship that started in 2018 and occasionally reestablishes contact and still nothing ever happens. When I got the text last night, I was more annoyed than I was excited, so maybe....
