Harley had a Top Ten walk this morning. Someone threw a chunk of their Taylor Ham Egg & Cheese on the sidewalk and it went down the hatch before I could react. While I don't condone eating off the sidewalk, I am thankful for unexpected treats.

I learned to crochet as a child from 2 different great grandmothers, neither of whom used patterns, so I never learned to read them. Today I am thankful that I was able to figure out a section my friend was struggling with. Not because I could read her pattern, but because I could read the yarn.

In the last 24 hours, I've heard coyotes howling, seen 2 bears, about a dozen deer, a fox, more rabbits and squirrels than I could count, and now I'm listening to a barred owl- all in my own yard. Today I am thankful for wildlife.

Today was a perfect day for walking dogs. Today I am thankful that we are apparently a dog-walking neighborhood. We saw 17 canine friends on our rounds. (I'm also thankful that I had a pocket full of mini milk bones, since they're all good puppies.)

About 2 years ago I bought this gorgeous yarn from the Smoky Mountain Spinnery in Gatlinburg TN and started a sweater inspired by Dolly's Coat of Many Colors. Today I am thankful that all that's left is to finish weaving in the damn ends!

A sweater made of multiple multicolored squares is bundled in my lap FINALLY getting its ends sewn in. Yarn is Copper Corgi sport in Winter Wishes, Summer Fireflies, Spring Wildflowers, and Autumn Changes, from the Four Seasons of the Smokies collection from the Smoky Mountain Spinnery.

It's a New Jersey tradition to have caprese salad with the greens and tomatoes fresh from the garden, and fresh mozzarella from an Italian deli (bonus points if the cheesemaker is shouting in Italian while making the cheese.) Today I am thankful that I can still get good food.

My mom's birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks. I scheduled us for a group activity (5 of us) to make Raku pottery. It just occurred to me that it's the adult version of the plaster painting parties she scheduled for me when I was a kid. Today I am thankful I can return the favor!
