AmyChanta @amychanta.bsky.social · 22/03/2025Baby manager me also used to call myself an umbrella, but these days I say sieve + funnel. Not all information is equally important, so 1) filter out the stuff your ppl need to know (sieve), and then 2) share it at the right rate/flow so they can apply it effectively (funnel). 1151
AmyChanta @amychanta.bsky.social · 06/03/2025I was going through some local microfilm at the library for something unrelated and came across these articles about Reagan from 1984-85. Like, no, we're not going to rewrite him to be more palatable. 001
AmyChanta @amychanta.bsky.social · 06/03/2025There's AC PocketCamp on mobile now, which has also been a delight. 010
AmyChanta @amychanta.bsky.social · 28/02/2025Went to Costco to buy some eggs, left $100 poorer. Thing is, these days it's hard to tell whether I impulse bought, or that really was just the price of eggs. 🙃 020
AmyChanta @amychanta.bsky.social · 19/02/2025I think AI has become a catch-all term for all sorts of technology that has existed for quite some time. It's just being all rebranded under the AI badge because it's trendy. 010

From my understanding it's a small company. The person I dealt w to create the book ban script is also the one emailing us all for alerts. Download it today! 325265
AmyChanta @amychanta.bsky.social · 06/02/2025Thank you. And sorry for word vomiting on your thread. Basically the message here is yes, 100000 times yes, to your post. 010
AmyChanta @amychanta.bsky.social · 06/02/2025Ugh, I've lived through this far too many times in tech, and I'm so tired of it. 110
AmyChanta @amychanta.bsky.social · 06/02/2025Meanwhile, never doing the work to examine how the systems in place are failing or straight up disadvantageous to people who don't share the majority experience. Obvious to you is not the same as obvious, especially to someone who is in the minority and doesn't share context with you. 120
AmyChanta @amychanta.bsky.social · 06/02/2025It's all a farce. Hire the person, let them fail, rinse, repeat. Publish workplace equity reports that make your demographic stats look marginally good while simultaneously pointing out that DEI doesn't work, because if it worked, then these people wouldn't struggle so hard to be successful. 120
AmyChanta @amychanta.bsky.social · 06/02/2025Not me resisting the impulse to just be like, "Oooh, maybe I should offer to take it off her hands." 🙈🙈🙈🙈 (Don't indulge me, please lol) 110
AmyChanta @amychanta.bsky.social · 06/02/2025I replaced some joycon components a while back. YouTube tutorials helped immensely, and it wasn't that hard, but YES, opening the damn thing was the most infuriating part. 😤 010

AmyChanta @amychanta.bsky.social · 06/02/2025Bonus points of I can support independent bookstores in the process. Now more than ever, I'm leaning into local impact. 000
AmyChanta @amychanta.bsky.social · 06/02/2025I volunteered to read to 1st and 2nd graders at the end of Feb, so hit me with your best age appropriate #KidLit recs. Looking for: Themes of resilience, empathy, doing hard things, inclusion, justice. Authors and artists from historically minoritized backgrounds that are rising stars. 120
AmyChanta @amychanta.bsky.social · 06/02/2025No, you're pretty spot-on. I also gave up on corporate and legacy outlets. 010
AmyChanta @amychanta.bsky.social · 05/02/2025Exactly! I would get so restless with only 1-2 hobbies. Plus, so many skills are transferable! eg. Cake decorating and drywall finishing. 120
AmyChanta @amychanta.bsky.social · 05/02/2025This is exactly how I feel whenever I think I might want to post on social media about my hobbies. Last month alone I've: Baked 2 novelty birthday cakes, built a medicine cabinet, heat pressed some T-shirt designs, crocheted some toys, painted a mural, and designed elementary school curriculum. 120
AmyChanta @amychanta.bsky.social · 05/02/2025*chef's kiss* that's a great tip! Will also add: if you're having a goblin day (like I am right now), then there's no shame in slapping cheese on that tortilla and popping it in the microwave for a few seconds. ...All this talk has got me hungry, so time for an emergency burrito. 🤣 030
AmyChanta @amychanta.bsky.social · 05/02/2025I've done refried beans and taco seasoned chickpeas before too when I had no ground meat readily available. 010
AmyChanta @amychanta.bsky.social · 05/02/2025Pretty much on point with how I do it! Adding all the ingredients warm is the key point, because once the cheese melts a bit, it's a great glue to hold the burrito together after rolling it up. 220

Most of these have existed for decades like the Society of Black Engineers. They were there when I was a Cadet in 1987. All of the religious ones remain. This isn’t DEI. AmyChanta @amychanta.bsky.social · 22/01/2025Very timely! I've been thinking about this a lot too. I'm pretty worn out on the whole "do more with less" culture, and the demands to make miracles happen with unrealistic / unreasonable constraints. Be strategic, but also, you get next to no resources or support to pull it off. 🙃 110

AmyChanta @amychanta.bsky.social · 17/01/2025I was going to say something snarky, but reading all this is just exhausting. I wish I could say I am surprised, but let's be real: we've worked in this industry long enough to recognize this pattern. 020
AmyChanta @amychanta.bsky.social · 16/01/2025Have I ever painted a wall mural before? Nope. Am I an artist? Not even close. Am I going to try it anyway? You bet I am. Gotta love that #ADHD audacity and hubris. 010
