Just got the mono version of my astro camera and SHO filters, so I decided to do a test - get the same amount of time with both cameras on the Spider Nebula IC417 to compare. I think the results speak for themselves. #astrophotography #photography #space #nebula #astronomy
IC417 the Spider nebula, captured with a mono camera (ASI183MM Pro) and SHO filters plus luminance, for a total of about 6.5hr of exposure time. Dark red filaments of gas fill the frame that's dotted with thousands of stars, with a few stars appearing much larger and brighter than the rest closer to the middle of the frame. The center of the nebula is glowing faintly blue as wellIC417 the Spider nebula, captured with a one shot color camera (ASI183MC Pro) and a light pollution filter, for a total of about 6.5hr of exposure time. The nebula is much fainter compared to the mono image with significantly less detail.

Finally have some more #astrophotography to show off. These are M94 - Croc's Eye Galaxy and IC2177 - The Seagull Nebula (close up). Taken over the course of 5 nights, with a total of 12.5 and 11hr total integration respectively #photography #space #nebula #galaxy #astro
Messier 94, the croc's eye galaxy, sits amongst a handful of stars and displays its characteristic spiral center with a diffuse halo that makes up the outer reaches of the galaxyIC2177, the seagull nebula, is shown in partial due to its angular size on the sky. This dense and bright nebula glows strongly with reds and a few blues as the gas is ionized by the many stars in this region. It is made up of a round nebula above a much straighter one that stretches from the lower left to upper right of the image. A dark nebula obscures part of the round nebula, giving this nebula one of its distinctive features that gives it its name. The straight nebula extends outside of the frame to make up the "wings" of the seagull, while the round nebula with a dark strip makes up the "head".

NGC6888 - Crescent Nebula

Taken using an Askar 103APO @ 560mm, about 3hr total exposure.

This is a supernova remnant in the constellation Cygnus. This is fairly close to true color, with only minor adjustments for aesthetic reasons.IC1805 - Heart Nebula

Taken with Askar V @ 288mm, 12hr 40min total integration time across 5 panels (four corners and middle)

This large nebula actually lives up to its namesake, with an immediately recognizable heart shape. It is glowing faintly red due to the hydrogen in this cloud.NGC2024 - The Flame Nebula

Taken with an Askar 103APO @ 700mm, total integration about 8 hours.

This famous yellow and highly dynamic nebula near the Horsehead is shown in high detail with its surrounding companion nebulae. A small corner of the horsehead's red background is seen in the upper right corner.NGC6960 - Western Veil Nebula

Taken with an Askar 103APO @ 700mm, just over 4 hours of data. Decided to have some fun with this one and pushed the saturation, then made the reds a lot more purple/pink, because I think it's a pretty color combination for nebulae.
