In the mid to late 1990s, I was (unhealthily?) obsessed with East Coast Canadian indie rock. Being close to Vancouver provided me a pipeline to these bands that I couldn't find in the states. I followed all the offshoots into the 00s as that scene shifted a bit.

With wildfire smoke wafting into our area, I thought how conservatives consistently use "treehugger" as a pejorative for progressives. Maybe we should spend more time hugging trees and appreciating nature. Because nature is the one thing we'll never be able to control, and it's going to fuck us up.

#tbt #throwbackthursday back to one day in 2020 when I came to the conclusion that I have absolutely zero interest in garden or yard work. I like pretty flowers and lawns, but putting my hands in the literal dirt never gave me any sort of satisfaction. So I gave up any pretense to enjoying it.

My elementary school had a big slide like this. It was originally a fire escape slide from the original building before that was torn down. The only difference is we didn't have a ladder, so you had to climb up the slide itself, and try to avoid kids that were sliding down.

Yesterday, I went a little too hard for our 4/20 celebration, so I needed to ground myself by laying down and having some puppy and partner therapy. I am so blessed and thankful.
