Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 07/10/2026If you can find the cat in this photo, you, too, could have a promising career as a cat herder. 4181
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I have no clue how or why I got to 6K followers, but thank you, and don’t ever let anyone make you shrink yourself down, don’t let them make you make yourself smaller. Take up all the loud, messy space you need, bunnies. Anyone not comfortable with it isn’t worth worrying about. 0120
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Fuzzy is still very shy, to the point he gets embarrassed when he’s being silly and goes under mom’s chair until it passes. I did get him to chase the toy in a circle once. 132
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I did. It’s barely three months! So many cats. 020
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 05/10/2026And I can say, even if the cat distribution system sends you another cat, it doesn’t mean they’re your cat. Sometimes, you’re just the conduit. I got Patches inside, socialized, vaccinated and neutered, and found him a good home where he’s the number one cat like he needs. 160
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 02/10/2026We’ve got 5 for 7 cats, and it’s fine. When the cleaning ladies are here, there’s one for all of them. I don’t know why they’re rotating though. Ours each have favorite boxes, this is Carey peeing in the litter boxes we pick up so the ladies can clean, because he likes the kitchen box. 120
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 02/10/2026This is an older photo but I forgot to include it in my post about today being Nick’s 17th birthday. He was only 7 here. I never put this on him again though. He was cussing at me. 1220
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Happy 17th birthday to my little Noodle, my weird kid Nick. I can’t believe he’s been with me this long, it feels like yesterday. 3150
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Carey’s belly is a trap, because he won’t let you stop scritching it and his armpits until he’s ready. 0122
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Nubbin had long been neutered, but we tried that on her when she was over licking a spot on her belly and could get around a soft cone. Unfortunately they don’t come in size chonk, and the constriction it gave caused pain in her wonky Manx hips. She was also not a fan of dog pjs my other cat liked. 040
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Fuzzy has been indoors about 18 months. I can only pet him at night when we’re alone and it’s quiet and I can’t pick him up at all. But he has never tried to even get near an outside door. It’s easier to keep that soft white fur “fastidiously clean” as the vet called him, inside. And he has friends. 1110
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 26/09/2026I had Teddy on my lap, and since she’s gotten my dad to sleep, Nubbin came to join bedtime club, and claimed her perch on my boobs as my lap was taken. Pretty great Friday night. Glad I turned the AC down though, they’re very warm cats. 0140
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Fat bear week candidate Fuzzy says, what if a cat was large? 0343
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Nick, fuzzy, Carey, and Boo. The fluffy voids act more like brother and sister than litter mates we’ve had, and are finally getting along and not doing “I’m not touching you.” Fuzzy only uses his largeness to make room on the back of the couch. Bedtime club is the only time I can pet him. So soft. 110
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Have some Nubbin rolling. I love watching her, she really enjoys her rolls. 120
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 23/09/2026There are 5 cats in this photo, Carey’s in the laundry basket. I love cleaning lady day, because I have all 7 cats anc Oliver in my room. 1170
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Yay! I fear yall are going to be busy, if we 🤞🤞 get a change in government and all the crooks will have to make fake apologies for their crimes in hearings. 020
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 21/09/2026He’s so lovely. I love the silver marten coat color. Rabbits are just so amazing. I’ve had house rabbits for god, 28 years now? And it never stops being magical having a bunny hop through the room. My Oliver is a sweet boy, friends with our cats. Allows them to eat his hay. 040
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Happy gotcha day to my Boo, 13 yrs of being my baby girl and my fluffy Xanax. I took her in and she looked around and said, “this my house, you my person, where’s my food?” And has loved me unconditionally since. She loves dresses and snow, is 60lbs of sass in 6lbs of cat, a total brat, and perfect 3252
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Cat bellies are the best thing. Teddy lets me put my face in there, bless him, and he really likes a good scratch. He’s currently eating his belly fur off, and I don’t know why and a month on Prozac didn’t help. Baby Teddy belly. You can see why I’d want the adult version of this to be ok. 120
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Most of our cats are generous with bellies, and like being scratched there. Carey will present his for me, Teddy too. Our cat Raffles would let my scratch his belly about once a month for a couple minutes, and then close access again. He was a magnificent grump. 120
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 16/09/2026It’s a rocking party, every night. They do jockey for the best spots, Teddy (not pictured) has taken Carey’s spot on mom’s chair, leading to Carey and Boo (the fluffy voids) having a truce. Nubbin doesn’t come because she’s on duty with my dad, and Fred isn’t allowed until he stops hitting Fuzzy. 110
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 12/09/2026This is a fabulous thread, and Boo admires Thomas’s style. Some cats like being fancy. Boo all but twirls in her dresses. I haven’t dressed her up as much lately because twirling is hard with arthritis, but I should. We both need it. 091
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 11/09/2026Just took this. Nick has given up trying to tell Fuzzy there isn’t room on the back of the couch, because the only way Fuzzy uses his size is to politely but firmly show that there is room. He’ll rarely do it passive aggressively, too, which is very funny. 090
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 11/09/2026Boo is a brat, but you happily do anything for her. She’s Eloise from the book. A little girl who loves dresses and being the center of attention. No interest in other cats, they can’t pet her. Feisty as hell, but an absolute doll if you respect her bodily autonomy. I’m so lucky to be her person. 0120
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Carey was posing for a Halloween card, until I got my phone out to get a photo and he went derpy. But I got one decent photo while he contemplated chewing the flowers. 0101
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 10/09/2026This chair belonged to my great somethingth grandfather, who was in charge of the port of Calcutta. The long arms are for putting your feet up to be a little cooler in tropical climates. It’s actually really comfy. (We’ve gotten it recaned). I always wonder how else they survived there as Brits. 340
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 08/09/2026Have some Boo. If you were here, she’d be saying you’d feel better if you pet her. You would, too, she’s my fluffy Xanax. 091
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 08/09/2026The only way Fuzzy uses his size is to make room for himself when another cat has the spot he wants. Nick doesn’t appreciate this, so he doesn’t take advantage of having a big soft chonk to use as a pillow. Nick, you are an idiot. 2192
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 06/09/2026That’s my Toad. My heart cat. He was descended from cats worshipped as gods and kings, absolutely brilliant, you could have a conversation with him. He knew when you were upset and would sit with you until you felt better. Had some hoodoo powers I can’t fully explain, but he took care of me. 110
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 06/09/202619 in 1992, I think only my eyebrows give it away? Amazingly they grew back when thin brows were less in style. 1171
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 05/09/2026He can somehow look like a kitten and an adult cat at the same time. The stripes on his body have toasted into grey, but his face is still baby tabby. He was a ridiculously cute baby. 140
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 05/09/2026He looks grumpy here because I stopped petting him for a second to take photos, but Teddy has been the snuggliest baby lately. #Caturday 1334
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 04/09/2026Oh my goodness, he’s gorgeous! I’ve never seen a Siamese that dark. I’ve had Siamese boys since I was 5, my dad got me my first one because Siamese boys bond to one person. Nick is about to turn 17, which I can’t believe because he’s my little boy. Here he’s admiring a portrait a website made of him 110
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 04/09/2026My Fuzzy chonk. He’s got medium fur, he’s fuzzy not fluffy, so he’s bigger than you’d expect. He’s built like a bruiser but he’s a gentle bear. (Alt text: a fuzzy black and white cat asleep on a red blanket) 051
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 02/09/2026I still haven’t gotten Fuzzy to eat a churro from the tube. He’ll lick one off a plate. The first time I tried that, he got spooked and angry and laid in it, then proclaimed MY ANGER WILL TASTE LIKE TUNA. He’s the gentlest boy, only got like this if I tried to push his boundaries. 1111
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 02/09/2026Post something random or you’ll have an awful September: 082
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 02/09/2026In “Louisiana has too much nature,” we have those little pale, translucent geckos living in the walls, so when I see Teddy staring at one spot like this for a few minutes, I go find the lizard and help it escape him. This one was about an inch long. Sometimes it’s a frog. Couple green lizards. 1142
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 01/09/2026Very sweet fluffy black Manx, who’s because of being a Manx is prone to UTIs and lets us know when it hurts to pee by peeing on things. He’s currently full of acupuncture needles and purring his head off like it’s a spa day. (Arthritis and Manx joint problems) 1271
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 29/08/2026Have some raccoons. Including a baby who’s learned he’s good at standing on his butt, and my friend Sweetpea, who’s good at sitting. 191
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 29/08/2026God that sounds good. My mom can only eat white beans, and not many of those, so I can’t do beans for dinner. 😭 I grew up eating beans and rice, that’s toddler me in Rio with our housekeeper’s daughter who was my best friend eating them, so I avoided her WASP microbiome that can’t digest beans. 010
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 27/08/2026My parents cat Sasha claimed me as his baby. He even brought a bird in and had it under my crib, waiting to either teach me to hunt it or help me eat it, or both. My parents thanked him and got the bird out. 120
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 27/08/2026I could watch Nubbin rolling like this for hours. She just rolls, I think it might help her back and hips? She has that look of “oh yeah, that’s the spot,” and if trying to find the spot. 1101
Mockingbird, MPH, CHES @amockingbird.bsky.social · 23/08/2026She’s ignoring my dinner completely, just wants to love on me. She was so well trained when we found her, she wouldn’t get on the table. It took us 10 days to break that, but she still only even sniffs food you purposely put in front of her. She just likes being up here for the company. 4844
