This week’s petition is about the use of AI by the police. An investigation found that over 90% of people in Bristol had their data collected in an attempt to assign “risk scores” to adults and children. Two of these risk-scoring model were shut down when seen to be “not fit for operational use”.

This week’s petition calls for the release of Dr Hussam Abu Safiya who has been detained since Dec 2024. No charges have been brought against him. He was an outspoken critic of Israeli forces’ destruction of medical infrastructure in Gaza and since 3rd June he has been kept in solitary confinement.
