Indonesia and the international community must mobilize the necessary resources to support rescue efforts in the affected areas. There can be no solution to this devastation without a roadmap for climate justice, and there is no climate justice without human rights.
Hundreds of people killed and more missing as a cyclone hits Indonesia.

Communities affected by this disaster have contributed almost nothing to greenhouse gas emissions, yet they are paying for governments’ inaction on climate change and curbing deforestation.

The adoption of this law in France is a historic step forward. It is a long-awaited victory for victims of rape and the culmination of years of tireless campaigning by activists, feminist organizations and survivors of sexual violence.

UNnatural disasters caused by fossil fuels put our human rights at risk. People around the world, often those who have contributed least to climate change, are being killed or losing their homes to hurricanes, fires and floods.

The Taliban have made life for Afghan women and girls intolerable. They have erased them from almost all spheres of life and systematically stripped away their rights and dignity. This latest ban is a further attempt to silence the voices of women.

Six months after the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s government in Syria, survivors of its brutal detention system, including the infamous Saydnaya military prison, are grappling with devastating physical and mental health consequences amid a critical lack of support.
"There was a part of our lives where we were removed from the face of the Earth, placed behind the sun, and subjected to horrors. That place will always be a black stain—one that will grow unless we make meaning of it by ensuring our children never go through it. If we can’t guarantee that, then what happened has no meaning." – Ahmed Helmi - from Syrian survivor-led group Ta’afi
