Trump's Deportment of Injustice (DOJ - pronounced Dodge) still has refused to comply with orders to release Epstein Files. Congress say 80% of what they have seen is redacted. Investigations reveal only 2% have even been disclosed. youtu.be/wozikMgZesg?...

I hear a certain documentary is doing poorly. "Melanoma - Shallow Cancer" the story of Mrs Trump is apparently slightly less appealing than actual cancer.

Not at the level of boycotting BrightonSEO completely, but I have surprised myself with how close to that I feel for something I have loved and praised so long. Sometimes one has to draw a line. I know where mine is drawn.

Don't blame you in the slightest. I'm one stage further on I think. In do understand that BrightonSEO in US expands the audience and reach and best practices... But I *still* now feel a lot less supportive of BrightonSEO too for investing in the US now.

Destroying America was always the objective. It's like the movie "Wall Street" and how they destroy and rip apart assets to strip out just the bits they want, without care for how many it harms, or what a waste it is.

10. Obviously, bringing all of the personnel and equipment out of all of those bases, and finding new facilities to house them in the US, will cost billions, if not trillions, on a very short "We need it yesterday" kind of deadline.

Ammon @ammonjohns.bsky.social · 17/01/2026
9. Through NATO, the USA was able to build and hold bases all over Europe (and Greenland), which include early warning and intelligence operations, air bases, and of course, missile bases. Should the US lose NATO, it loses those bases with it.

Ammon @ammonjohns.bsky.social · 17/01/2026
8. Most of the other Articles after 5 and 6 are 'admin' and housekeeping, with Article 13 basically adding to what I already said about leaving NATO that the country has to give 1 year of notice. We are all agreeing here that the USA, collectively, is currently in breach, due to just one crook.
130
Ammon @ammonjohns.bsky.social · 17/01/2026
7. Article 5 basically says that if Greenland or Canada are invaded, America (and every other NATO member) *must* fight that invader. Basically, if Trump invades, the US needs to declare war on Trump if no other means stop him.
120
Ammon @ammonjohns.bsky.social · 17/01/2026
6. Article 4 officially calls for consultation over military matters when "the territorial integrity, political independence or security of any of the parties is threatened." This means that threatening to withdraw from NATO can only be done with due consultation.
120
Ammon @ammonjohns.bsky.social · 17/01/2026
5. Article 1 states that members "refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force in any manner inconsistent with the purposes of the United Nations." Just to be clear, that means you are not allowed to threaten to annex Canada or Greenland.

Ammon @ammonjohns.bsky.social · 17/01/2026
4. I think we can all agree that under Donald Trump, the entire USA has breached one of the major articles of a rather clear and straightforward treaty. Repeatedly, consistently, and deliberately. But there's so much more.
120
Ammon @ammonjohns.bsky.social · 17/01/2026
3. Article 2 of this treaty includes the specific statement: "They will seek to eliminate conflict in their international economic policies and will encourage economic collaboration between any or all of them." i.e. no tariffs or 'conflict in international economic policies'

Ammon @ammonjohns.bsky.social · 17/01/2026
2. This treaty, a binding document and international contract, provided for the security of the entire North Atlantic region, its territories and trade routes. It consists of several specific articles of agreement.

Ammon @ammonjohns.bsky.social · 17/01/2026
1. Dear US Citizens, in 1949 your nation, both Presidential and Congressional created a treaty to protect the USA, and had it signed in Washington DC. That treaty is the basis of NATO, and it belongs to and is on behalf of, your whole nation...

I'm not so sure they'll be okay. They have been systematically programmed to believe the USA to be the best, the freeest, the most envied, the most powerful. I'm genuinely unsure they can pivot to reality without tearing the whole country apart in the meltdown.

Soldiers fed a proper diet with plenty of protein, in an age where malnutrition and stunted growth were the norm, were akin to supermen. Even today, the Veterans who make up England's 'Beefeaters' are named for that exact tradition. Again to do that takes agriculture/farming.

Ammon @ammonjohns.bsky.social · 15/12/2025
I guess we are thinking of different examples. I'm thinking of the Ancient Egytian Empire, The Roman Empire, and of course, thinking of the Roman conquest of Britain. Legionnaires got meat (beef) as part of their pay - that requires a strong agricultural economy to guarantee.

My late father used to say "Money cannot buy you happiness, it is true, but oh boy can it buy you a very comfortable misery". Today, I look at the sour-faced billionaires such as Trump and Musk and see that his truth extends to the very furthest extremes of wealth/power. Smug, comfortable, miserable

History (and pre-history) is filled with examples. The move from hunter-gatherer to farming, for example. People who had more wealth and luxury tended to dominate and out-last those without, even when the wealth difference was mere nutrition and safety.

You have it backwards. Being rich gave you better nutrition, heating, shelter, protection, and above all, medical care. Being rich helps you live longer. You mdae the right correlation, but got the causality backward.

Win? Look at the state of America today, not just in its own economy, society, and systems, but also its global standing. America has lost so much that it will take decades just to recover. Ending Trump and all of his ilk is not winning, it is simply stopping the further losing.

I think @polemicdigital.com is still a fair bit less cynical than I am about how much Google cares about the state of the web. Google's ad policies alone show they really don't care what they fund and what they destroy, so long as they have high share value. After all, they still have android.

It is absolutely a Christmas movie! Not only does the entire plot revolve around the fact it is the holidays, it also features a man dressed as Santa, and the words "Ho Ho Ho" (it just also happens to include automatic weapons).

YouTube/Google is currently ripping off advertisers harder than EVER before. Just looked at my watch history and since recent change, half shown are not videos I watched at all, and several, all ads, are ones I have never even seen at all. But you bet they are telling the advertisers I did.

The difference is the beards. The Taliban have natural beards made of facial hair. The MAGA folks have trophy wives as beards to cover their sexual preferences for underage boys and girls.

In that respect, there are similarities between Bond and Dr Who, just without the awkward 'transitions'. Each actor has re-envisioned the role, the morals, the ethics, and of course, all to the new times.

Ammon @ammonjohns.bsky.social · 11/11/2025
For me, the constant revisions and evolutions, constantly bringing very old spy novels to a modern day audience is half the fun. Each new Bond was more like a new title-holder for the position than a continuation of the same character/hero

Having read (I think) all the books back as a teenager, there's really not much more complete a divergence they could ever manage. What matters, ultimately, is whether or not the movie is enjoyable. Bond coming back from Lazenby was already coming back from dying. 🤣
