A nation of what?!

The reverse of a 1986 US half dollar coin. It reads “United States of America” followed by “A Nation of Immigrants.”

The image depicted on the coin shows a family with their luggage on the dock of the pier of the Ellis Island immigration center, looking out over the water to New York City.

This coin was issued to celebrate the centennial of the dedication of the Statue of Liberty.

The obverse of the coin shows Lady Liberty watching over an immigrant ship arriving in front of the rising sun.

Is the cotton in the room with us?
