One of my closest friends who is not army but supports (tolerates) my fangirling was with me at the gym the other day. And he stopped midset to ask me if bts was a polycule 🥴🥴🥴 I tried to deflect and asked why he was asking this? And he said the thought just struck him and he *had* to know lololol

Yes exactly. A lot of army refuse to understand this. I think a lot of army get upset that bts were treated that way so young. But there were kids their age in those neighborhoods who had to live that life for real, forever, not just for a show. And it was just as scary but no one cares.

I agree the fake kidnapping was key. I don't think people realized that they could have actually been hurt if they didn't learn to be careful. They were in places like Compton and skid row. It's hard to explain in words what that means but they learned through experience which was necessary

I always feel a need to defend the first couple episodes. It's hard to watch yes but it was so important they did it that way to learn the context of violence in the music and culture of LA at the time. The roots of hip hop didn't grow in safe spaces

Imo, the most important BTS content that any army should watch is American Hustle Life. Yes, I know it's controversial but that's part of it. But its so key to understanding what sets BTS apart, especially in terms of appropriation vs appreciation of black culture.
