We at ProPublica obtained internal government data in May that showed the Trump administration knew the vast majority of Venezuelans sent to El Salvador had not been convicted of violent crimes. Our reporting is featured in Frontline. Read our full coverage: www.propublica.org/series/depor...

I think people's interest in this DC-journo train wreck is understandable (and so is the desire to unsee it); I hope folks understand that it's not a soap opera and, in fact, the reason it's so grotesque is that the people involved are treating it like one.

People will die, and are currently dying, because RFK was granted one of the most powerful megaphones in the country. Two people who could have thrown barriers in front of his climb decided not to; there's a sex scandal here but it is not the biggest scandal.

What Happened to The Migrants The U.S. Dumped In Panama?
Nearly 300 people were sent to a country they’d never lived in. The journey didn’t end there.

New from me: a Russian man documented election tampering, got caught, and came to the US to claim political asylum. Except that when he got here, he was told that the asylum system in America no longer exists.

Reminder that as with so much of what we’re witnessing, Congress could put a stop to it.

Rubio terminated 5800 USAID contracts – more than 90% of its foreign aid programs – in defiance of the courts. Here’s a list of just some of the lifesaving awards that were terminated. Nearly all were Congressionally mandated. They’ve saved millions of lives. 🧵

"ICE press releases that have reached the first page of Google search results, making it seem like enforcement actions just happened, when in actuality they occurred months or years ago. Some go back as far as 2008." www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

Since last March, @nymagunion.bsky.social has been negotiating a new contract. But Vox Media has refused to meet us halfway on basic issues including giving us meaningful wage increases, controlling health care costs, and offering reasonable protections around AI in our workplace.

PEPFAR, started by George W. Bush, has saved more than 25 million lives worldwide. 600,000 people would die over the next decade in South Africa alone, which relies on PEPFAR for only 20% of its H.I.V. budget. Some countries are almost entirely dependent on the program.
