#iwaoi it's when oikawa drags his feet into his tiny apartment after one of those all-day, brutally intensive josé blanco practices. when his whispered “i’m home” is met with a deep, cheerful “welcome back”.

** Okay this is cheesy but it's been a while I wrote a thread and I wanted to challenge myself writing Takeda confessing first 🤭

2140

Em 💭 | new tskym fic!! 📌 @amediocrewriter.bsky.social · 09/11/2025

This time, Ukai didn't dodge; instead, he leaned in for a kiss, but it was Takeda who pulled away. "I would have listened, you know, if you had any good reasons. But being you isn’t. Not when it’s what made me love you," he confessed, before allowing Ukai to kiss him senseless😇

1170

Em 💭 | new tskym fic!! 📌 @amediocrewriter.bsky.social · 09/11/2025

Ukai couldn't even retaliate. "I care about you and the gentleness of your heart even if you don't see it. I like that you spent an hour with Yamaguchi today because he was anxious or that you still call Daichi to make sure he gets enough rest. That you always make me feel safe."

1120

Em 💭 | new tskym fic!! 📌 @amediocrewriter.bsky.social · 09/11/2025

When he said it like this, Ukai could almost believe him. He didn’t even move a muscle when Takeda cradled his face, looking at him as if he were precious. Not many had ever looked at Ukai like that. "I don't care about your grades back in school or your job," Takeda whispered.

1100

Em 💭 | new tskym fic!! 📌 @amediocrewriter.bsky.social · 09/11/2025

His wobbly grin hit Ukai like a punch. "Sensei… just look at me." "But I do. All the time. I watch you spread yourself thin for everyone around you. For the kids or your friends and your family. Have you taken a look at yourself recently?" Takeda cooed, taking a step closer.

1120

Em 💭 | new tskym fic!! 📌 @amediocrewriter.bsky.social · 09/11/2025

He was about to close the store when the teacher stormed in out of breath. Ukai ran to him. "Sensei, is everything..?" "I know you're avoiding me. I get it. But I just need to know why. Tell me. Or do I have to get on my knees and beg? You know I won't give up," Takeda rambled.

1100

Em 💭 | new tskym fic!! 📌 @amediocrewriter.bsky.social · 09/11/2025

Not when Takeda still looked at him with pleading eyes. Sadness would have been easier to deal with. Anger too. Yet yearning, so gentle and patient, was making Ukai nearly lose his mind with the urge to give in. Something he still mulled over a smoke during another late shift.

1100

Em 💭 | new tskym fic!! 📌 @amediocrewriter.bsky.social · 09/11/2025

Before practice? Ukai was on the phone with a coach in Brazil, hoping to help Hinata for next year. After? He agreed to cover another shift for his mom. The days went on without a hitch. Ukai made sure he didn’t have to face Takeda alone. He didn’t trust himself enough to.

2120

Em 💭 | new tskym fic!! 📌 @amediocrewriter.bsky.social · 09/11/2025

Takeda nodded. "Maybe later then." Ignoring Takinoue's sigh, Ukai left. *** It wasn’t that Ukai wanted to deliberately avoid Takeda. There was just so much on his plate, always something popping up at the very moment he was finally alone with Takeda. Well, he made sure of it.

1120

Em 💭 | new tskym fic!! 📌 @amediocrewriter.bsky.social · 09/11/2025

"I can leave if you need some privacy," Takinoue said with a wink. "Oh no. It's okay. Sorry Sensei. I promised Kageyama I’d give him a ride at lunch. He has an appointment on the other side of town and well, his parents aren't here and he doesn't want to miss practice later..."

1110

Em 💭 | new tskym fic!! 📌 @amediocrewriter.bsky.social · 09/11/2025

Ukai glared at his friend and his smug grin. "Hello to both of you. Ukai-kun, I was hoping we could talk about something," Takeda announced with a small smile. He was so good at this; pretending nothing had ever happened. Another thing he was better at than Ukai.

190

Em 💭 | new tskym fic!! 📌 @amediocrewriter.bsky.social · 09/11/2025

"I bet things are awkward now." Just as Ukai promised they were completely fine, the gym door opened and the pretty teacher walked in. Ukai shot up in a flash, bumping into the desk with a bang as he stammered out a greeting. "Oh I see. Perfectly fine," Takinoue muttered.

1130

Em 💭 | new tskym fic!! 📌 @amediocrewriter.bsky.social · 09/11/2025

"Good thing it's none of your business, then," Ukai muttered, his hands flexing with the urge for a cigarette. "When your crush of the last three years wants to kiss you, you kiss them back," Takinoue explained, as if it were that simple. Ukai shook his head. "Shut up."

1110

Em 💭 | new tskym fic!! 📌 @amediocrewriter.bsky.social · 09/11/2025

*** Turns out, it wasn’t. Not even close. Partly because Ukai’s friends swore they would never let him forget how much of an idiot he was. "I still don't understand," Takinoue admitted when he came by the school a couple of days later, as Ukai was preparing for practice.

1110

Em 💭 | new tskym fic!! 📌 @amediocrewriter.bsky.social · 09/11/2025

"Soon owner," Takeda corrected. Yet his gentle smile was anything but cherry. "And one of the best coaches in Japan." Ukai shook his head. "And yet it isn't nearly worthy of you," he confessed before pressing a delicate kiss to Takeda's forehead, thinking it was the end of it.

1140

Em 💭 | new tskym fic!! 📌 @amediocrewriter.bsky.social · 09/11/2025

Takeda wasn’t surprised in the least, nor irritated by the rejection. In the dim lighting, his face softened even more. "How so?" It made Ukai chuckle, how obvious it was. "You’ll find someone better, way better than a grumpy nearly thirty-year-old store clerk. Trust me."

1110

Em 💭 | new tskym fic!! 📌 @amediocrewriter.bsky.social · 09/11/2025

No, at that moment, Ukai wasn’t thinking about the wellbeing of the team or any selfless reasons. He just knew he didn’t deserve more than a glance from the perfect Takeda Ittetsu. And he was already being blessed with more than he should. "You’re gonna thank me later, Sensei."

1120

Em 💭 | new tskym fic!! 📌 @amediocrewriter.bsky.social · 09/11/2025

#ukatake 🧡 Takeda confessing It wasn’t on a night like this that Ukai thought he would face the biggest challenge of his life: having to dodge a pretty tipsy Takeda, leaning in to kiss him, in the middle of a busy bar. "Whoa, Sensei," Ukai whispered. "This isn’t a good idea."
