DIRKJAKE 💥BIG BANG “The Room Where You Sleep” Illustrated by: @ambiguouscarousel.bsky.social Written by: fungus_amongus00 on ao3, fungus-amongus00 on tumblr archiveofourown.org/works/81085091 #dirkjake #dirkjakeweek26 #djbb26

Dirk and Jake from Homestuck, pre-sburb. Jake is crying on his bed. Dirk is sitting beside him but he is separated by a blue force field.

SUMMARY: On an island surrounded by monsters and a computer as his only connection to the outside world, Jake feels utterly isolated and alone. It was nothing like how he felt being an action hero would be like; however, his life takes an interesting turn when an anomaly appears in his bedroom. It is a ripple in spacetime that shows the bedroom of someone else from another timeline far, far into the future. Here, two dimensions temporarily converge, and Jake meets someone who makes him want to be braver.

This is the true Dirk experience, I definitely feel like if someone likes him despite the flaws they've misread the character entirely. I put him under a microscope to analyse him and put him in situations

Lily of the Valley Knight. I got a lot of comments this guy looks like one of those Boreal Valley enemies from Dark Souls, even though I never played it. Is there any truth to it? 🤔 #digitalpainting #painterly #ArtistsOnBlueSky #art #conceptart #BlueSkyArtShow #Art #Artist #illustration

I think my proudest moment this year was helping my brother with a graphic animation he needed so last minute even I suggested AI but when it wasn't easy or working I pulled out my iPad and did it in 20 mins despite my doubts and now I get to pat myself on the back and be smarmy about it

I hate pinterest on a good day ngl but just browsing for refs and seeing some fanart on the side lines... except that its tagged as AI?? but its absolutely not. Unless its tagged AI to avoid being scrapped? but that seems strange too....

yeah exactly :( gotta talk about it to spread knowledge, sorta gotta not talk so they don't get attention! it is very very strange rn, I'm here for blorbos not a profitable community

I love Homestuck really, I think rn its v goofy and whatever, sometimes a moment like Davepeta happens and its really validating, but demanding and expecting the media to make something canon to warm your heart is just going to leave people let down and angry. It does whats best for *them* not us.

"We shouldn't look up to Homestuck as being this glorious progressive media" *SLAMS FIST ON TABLE* YES!! this, regardless of the money and the pandering, they will make what they are going to make and we con't just put it on a pedestal it doesn't deserve

ambiguousCarousel @ambiguouscarousel.bsky.social · 22/01/2026

"you need to keep posting regularly on social media for someone to see your work" I can't even bring myself to open instagram once a week at this point, I don't want to post online to websites that will scrape my data to train AI just so I can beg for work

I'm starting to get sick of people claiming "we're about to have a surge in the animation industry!" you've been saying that for the last 10 years, I'm sick of keeping my hopes up
