I know what I'm saying sounds cynical, but it's something I'm laying out because I just am thinking a lot about how I want to present myself in the spaces I engage with. Polish is often your make or break, and those who can be all polish, get success for a reason. I've seen it firsthand

It's always going to be easier to sell an image of somebody that is more fake and clean, than be honest with an online audience, give a perspective that is dense and trying to get something across with a complex whole.

As a vague sort of mantra, I think you will be mauled to death for trying anything new if your presentation isn't on point. What makes a lot of people succeed in artistic spaces is their ability to project that clean finish, versus the depth of what is made

Conceptually, as an imaginary friend, they were designed to be a people pleaser. So we are very directly faced with someone who benefits from changing, and we have to accept that. Kris, feeling a lack of autonomy in their own life, has to not be hypocritical when their friend expresses autonomy

See, first and foremost... I'm going to therapy very soon. And one thing I know I have to work on, is my self worth. It's very hard for me to be able to view anything I do as meaning anything or being worth it, and that's something very ingrained into my heart. It's a very emotional thing to change

All that to say... allowing yourself the solidarity in how fallible we all are as people, and being able to accept what you feel, what it brings isn't necessarily success, but it does bring a stabler sense of being. In everything I've learned, the key emotional takeaway is empathy for others

I'm a really jaded person... I try not to make it about the economy or anything like that, but... I try to succeed while being very honest. I've been put in situations a lot where I've been encouraged keep quiet about being hurt or the like. I know what it's like to want things to be simple

You're feeling the way they were always only projecting a fraction of themselves, and therefore not being honest. I try to come by everything I am and have done honestly, but believe me... everyone is capable of doing things you can't imagine the weight of. That's a large part of the nuance

The wealth of difference in one's understanding, it's not that the person became someone different when you found out about what happened, it's that their perspective is so different to yours for doing/allowing this to happen and not talk about it. You're feeling the dissonance in their image

I know how it feels to be betrayed. Be it someone you know turning out to have done something terrible, or otherwise, it's hard to accept. What I think would help a lot of people is in recognizing what it's like to get attached to an image of someone, versus who they are

A lot of things boil down to nuance being important most of all. Any time it happens there's the need to express that people can't be sorted into good or evil boxes. It's easy to think "how could someone ever think it's fine" but, that's the point. There's a wealth of difference in understanding

In my experience it's this kind of... presentation and ignorance that really turns me away. There's a distinct lack of understanding that comes across, when trying to "come back," and that kind of ignorance allows for simplicity, and safety, in one's image. The mindset hasn't ever changed

I don't wanna fixate on it much longer. But I think about scenarios where friends convey how they never liked the partner another friend was with, that kind of, trust was broken, something felt off, so naturally, that's spoken about while still expressing the way it matters. It's strange to me

Is it not a natural reaction, when finding out, for someone who didn't like them, to express how they never liked them? I know it doesn't matter. But it's so unimportant that that's why it even feels odd to complain about instead of expressing solidarity and conscious toward your community
