Yes, it‘s a cat again, but what can I do? Their big blinkers are just perfect for my #souleyesproject, so this definitely won’t be the last cat. #aquarelle #watercolor #cat #traditionalart

A pretty orange eye for this weeks #Souleyesproject . I had big plans this year to actually turn Amberdew into a side hussle, however I found something else I would rather try out first. I think it’s more substainable right now. Amberdew-as-a-business is smth I want to come back later though👍 #art

I totally forgot to upload last weeks #Souleyesproject 🫣 There is so much going on right now (I am actually working on setting up 2 different streams of income) & I was focusing a lot on YouTube, so I forgot my Bsky 😅 Anyways, here is last weeks little guy! #animal #watercolor #animalart

#Turtles and turtoises are one of the most long-lived beings on earth. Looking at them always makes me feel like I am in the presence of something way smarter than me. But in the way of connecting with your own self all animals are way smarter than us humans ;O #souleyesproject #animal #watercolor

It looks kinda ugly but also funny 😂 Prey animals often have these bulging eyes so they see predators more easily but it makes them look kinda weird in frontal view. I still think they are kinda adorable 🤭 #Souleyesproject #animals #watercolor #traditionalart #artist

I struggle a bit with printing my own artworks. At least I found out how to properly set up my printer & found some useful adjustments in darktable. Just need to figure out how to make even better pictures of my artworks and decide on a good paper. Trying out these different papers right now #artist

Time for the next #Souleyesproject painting! This one will be available as a print when I open my shop! I struggle right now with setting up my printer & finding the right settings AND the correct paper to make the print look good, so it will still take a while 😅 #animals #watercolor #zebra #artist

A new big painting is done. I stared this one 2 weeks ago so I had enough time to finish it for this weeks #Souleyesproject. Definitely one of my more colourful ones 😁 TikTok-video about its creation process will upload soon! #animalart #animalartist #chameleon #watercolour #aquarelle

Slowly but surely my desk-space at home turns into a art-corner. I only have this small space, so I have to cramp everything I need for running a small business in it somehow, but I think I will manage. I think creating a space you like, finding the right furniture etc. is a neverending story 😅

I honestly didn’t expect to like a fish-painting but I am quiet happy with this one. And I realized that I forgot to put my logo on all the paintings I did since I changed my name from „SonnemannArt“ to „Amberdew Studio“, so it’s time to start it now! Art thef sadly is a thing 😔 #Souleyesproject

It’s #Souleyesproject time again! Yes I know, it isn’t a cute fluffy animal … again. But I really wanted to paint some scales, so this time you get a #crocodile. I tried to be a bit more loose with the edges this time & giving it the typical #watercolour look. #animalart #watercolorartist #artist

Time for #souleyesproject number 26! Yes I know, we all want to see the cute cats & dogs & adorable birds, but part of my project is painting all kind of different animals. And crustaceans & insects have some crazy ass eyes, so I just had to include a few of them 😉 #watercolour #aquarelle #animalart

As promised here is finally my #souleyesproject number 25. The eyes got a nice golden layer for extra effect this time 👍 Staring into your soul - like his ancestors did many centuries ago, leading to a wonderful friendship between canines and humans 🧡 #wolf #watercolourart #aquarelle

I just wanted to post my #souleyesproject number 25 & realized: I totally forgot to post number 24! 😱 I´m sorry for making you all wait. Sadly I was sick with a nasty cold & middle ear infection last week & my brain was lagging a bit 😅 Nb. 25 will be posted on tuesday instead! #animalart #watercolor

Finally started working on this weeks Souleyes-painting. I normally prefer to work on these over the whole week, just quick little 30 minute sessions. But I got sick (inflammation of the middle ear) & don’t feel that good, so this one is pretty late. Trying my best to keep the challenge going 💪

#souleyesproject for week 23! Revealing the sneak peak and it’s a dogs eye! I feel like I don’t paint enough dogs, somehow I always end up with birds and cats. This eye was a joy to paint, the colours were so pretty! #watercolour #watercolor #aquarelle #animalart

I got some new art supplies (some are still on their way) and hope I can draw more while travelling soon! Thankfully as an watercolour artist I don´t need to carry around much stuff but I am always trying to go even smaller (if possible) with my setup. The little colour palette was a great find!

Sneak peak of this weeks watercolour painting :) Can you guess which kind of animal these pretty blinkers belong to? #aquarelle #watercolour #animalart

I´m 1 day too late for my #souleyesproject posts bc I was away for 5 days & my train back home was delayed. I arrived way later than expected and forgot to post 😅 This drawing was done 5 days ago already in preparation for my trip (I knew that I wouldn’t have the energy to draw during the week)

010

Amberdew Studio @amberdewstudio.bsky.social · 24/05/2026

This weeks #souleyesproject I went a slightly “rougher“ route & didn’t try to put too much details on the scales, instead letting the watercolour do it´s thing & be more flowy. It feels kinda unfinished to me though 😅 Btw, it’s the eye of an leopard gecko! Cute little guys 🥰 #watercolour #aquarelle

After struggling so much to find a name that wasn’t already taken and wracking my brain for a good logo (and learning how to vectorize 💪 ), I finally managed to rebrand this page. My logo had to stay recognizable at small sizes (like Apple or Nike), feel welcoming and have an animal connection. 🧡

Here is my second summary of my #souleyesproject. Which one do you like the most? I am so happy that I managed to draw an eye each week so far, no matter if I was sick or on holiday. I want to continue doing this till the end of this year! 💪 #aquarelle #watercolour #animalart #artist

#Souleyesproject week 19 is a digital painting. I had a lot to do this week and digital art is more forgiving, so I went with it. What do you think about digital art? Do you think it’s “less worth“ than traditional art? Or maybe superior to it? I do and love both! #digitalart #secretarybird

I didn’t paint with acrylics for quite a while, so this was a nice change. It´s just a cardboard + foam rubber sheet that I painted on. My Mini-PC is placed right at my window & the sheet is supposed to protect it from direct sunlight. I didn’t want it to look ugly, hence the paint #acrylic #artist

I just realize I rarely share any in-between steps, so here is the cat I painted in week 14 for my #Souleyesproject and how it looked halfway in. I usually do 2 very basic layers with very rough coloured shapes before I go into the details. Layer 4 vs Layer 8

This is honestly a bit embarrassing to post because it is not the quality you are used to seeing from me. But I bought my first set of #gouache and this is my first ever gouache painting. I am not sure if I like the medium yet but I will do a few more testpaintings with it to warm up to it. #art

New #souleyesproject post! This time had to cheat a little bit and draw the art of this AND next week. I will be on holiday soon and probably won’t be able to paint, so I worked ahead. So you are getting both paintings for this and next week already :) #animalart #watercolour #aquarelle #animals
