I’ve had people run to hide from the monsters of themselves inside here, I made the choice to love me more than being made a maker of beautiful humans, You can’t hide here. .png (persona non grata) | Amarii Davu YOU CAN’T HIDE HERE: a self-portrait series #photography #blacksky

My day has been GRAY. D’Angelo’s passing took the color out of this day for me.

D’Angelo’s death has had me down bad all day and it sucks because I was feeling incredible this morning. The whims of life, man.

I tend to the garden in my chest. Everything I spit is in full bloom. Have you cut your grass lately? Trim the distractions. #photography #blackphotographer #blacksky #sandiego #flowers #bloom

Ah, this brings back some great memories of Tennessee. Those long cloud blankets really made for some cinematic skies...

I’m so damn grateful for my homeys. I was inspired to think deeper about an idea that I had and in thinking deeper, came out with EXACTLY what I’ve needed to create.

Day 1 is DONE. Tomorrow, gotta hit this 6.11. But this is the farthest I’ve run ever. Making something that seemed impossible months ago into something that IS possible is the best damn feeling.

Flew my first kite today. As simple as that might be, I thank God for days like this where the biggest worry of my day is some shit like my kite string getting tangled with another MFs. Like damn, I’m really in the middle of everything I prayed for years ago.

My biggest issue might be not being able to shit my brain off. I shouldn’t be up learning random facts about the Sistine Chapel but here I am.

I practiced what’s called Stroboscopic Photography last night. This is ONE singular shot done in camera (no Photoshop) with a flash going off multiple times. This shot accurately depicts what it feels having Bipolar Disorder type II: a spectrum of emotions in a single moment. #photography
