I laughed before I could stop myself, because that was hilarious and adorable. I’d had a ton of those moments younger me wouldn’t have believed, mostly when I was in the US. Being one of those moments for him, was cute as fuck.

‘It doesn’t make me doubt you. I think it’s sweet, and probably unavoidable. To answer teenage you, it happened because Kyan Quinn is utterly obsessed with how cute you are and I am not going to be able to get enough, no matter how many times or how many ways I have you.’

‘Teenage me would not be able to process that. Now me is having trouble too.’

I kissed him, because that seemed like the easiest way to make my point.

‘Cole, I need you to believe me. I don’t do dating very often. I can’t remember the last time I asked someone out. I like you. I am rabidly horny for you. And I want to spend time with you. So, to answer now you’s query, what happens from here is up to you. My plan was to keep you here for a while because I don’t really want you to get dressed, then maybe lunch somewhere. Comparison is a bit of a theme for Kris and Zachariah, namely Zachariah comparing himself and their relationship to Kris and his last Dom. He's smaller, younger, and less experienced than Kris, which is where the insecurity comes from, but it's driving Kris up the wall. #WIPSnips #WritingCommunity

#ScribesUnited Got up early for my LGBTQ+ group coffee thing. Caught up with a couple of people so social battery is empty. Walked round town a bit too much. I have lots to do, but no energy and I failed to complete yesterday's to do list, so I guess I'll just see how it goes and hope for the best.

#ScribesUnited My back is strongly suggesting a quiet day with limited movement. The to do list suggests otherwise. Main jobs for the day are washing up, shower, marketing posts, and words, but some of the words need to come from notes on a journal article. Vacuuming might have to wait though.

From very early in Wolf and Leo's story, establishing their mentor/protector and mentee dynamic, and building a friendship. Wolf's being very careful to shut down Leo's flirtation, because it's not appropriate. He's having a harder time shutting down himself enjoying it. #WIPSnips #WritingCommunity

I had no idea what mortgage advisors earned, but I was confident he wasn’t taking home anywhere near what I was. The fact treating him felt nice, was incidental and not to be dwelled on.

Pool was fun, for me. He pouted because I beat him three games out of three despite trying to put me off by openly perving at me while I was taking shots. I had to tell him off three times for inappropriate comments. Twice, I caught him looking at me when he thought I couldn’t see, and it appeared he’d genuinely convinced himself he was into me. Bizarre, but he apologised for the inappropriate comments when corrected, and promised he respected the boundaries of the contract.

We ate the most enormous takeaway, sharing curries, naans, poppadum, two types of rice, and so many pickles and sides I lost count. Leo ate like he drank, fast and in large quantities. He ate almost as much as I did, and I had no idea how. Where did it go? He should look like a python after a big meal.

The pride he’d lost at pool was regained while thrashing me at rummy. I swear he’d have stayed up all night but, eventually, I had to sleep or risk a migraine.

‘Right, I’ve got to call it a night. Help yourself to drinks, or food if you can somehow face eating.’

‘Food will not be required before tomorrow, but I might grab a glass of water. I’ve had a nice day, thank you.’

‘Me too.’

‘I know I pushed it a bit at the pub, but I’ve been a really good boy tonight, haven’t I?’

He was fishing. I shouldn’t give him what he was looking for, but it was late and I wanted him to end the night happy.

‘You’ve been a very good boy. And you’re one hell of a rummy player. Night, Leo.’

‘Night, Wolfie.’ As expected, the good boy made him grin like a cheshire cat.

We’d had a fun day, and I enjoyed his company. That was fine because we were becoming friends, which would help with the trust required for me to be a good mentor. What wasn’t fine was my enjoyment of his flattery. I would need to reign that in quickly.

#AwesomeCharacters Not much to contribute today. Piper is the closest to an antagonist for both Damon and Max, but he's far more likeable than either. He also can't do much more than glare and growl at Max, because Tank won't let him. Max is very aware the leash won't necessarily work forever.

Jim's been with Conor and Caleb about eighteen months and they spend most of their time together in the flat above his shop. The rest of the time he uses it as a quiet office... but that might be about to change. #WIPSnips #WritingCommunity

‘We’d like to live here please, Master. Paying rent and everything. We don’t expect you to keep us.’

‘That’s unexpected. Why, and how would you manage work?’

‘Conor’s work isn’t much further from here than home, and I’m thinking of looking for another job anyway.’

‘I think I need a minute.’

‘Ok, Master.’

That was a lot to consider with two boys waiting nervously for an answer. Having them living above my work appealed to me. I could see them practically every day, even when we weren’t spending the night together.

They loved the flat and often talked about how much they liked having everything close by. Other than the fact it was where they saw their Master, I suspected their favourite thing was having no neighbours. But now Caleb had the kitchen and living space kitted out, it had a very comfortable and homely vibe. It was also about twice the size of their current place, so I could see the appeal.

I didn’t like the idea of them paying rent, but we could fix that.

‘Right. If you’re sure that’s what you want, then I would be delighted to have you here. We’ll set a nominal rent, for legality, but I’ll put it in a savings account and it will be savings you can draw on when Caleb picks a new career path, or for any other event requiring some spare money.’

‘We can pay proper rent, Master.’

‘You could, but I dislike the idea. You’ll have a proper contract. You’ll pay the bills. And technically you will be paying rent. Everything will be legal and above board. If I choose to put that money into a savings account for you, that’s entirely my business.’

#SundaySnips - Not sure if this is the only time I used eerie, but it's the only time I remember using it. A couple of hours ago, Carver joined Tank, Wolf, and others to rescue his drugged ex from a scary situation. They've just finished cataloguing his injuries and getting their story straight.

If there was any comeback from this, the three of us would take the rap. I would take anything coming to me, and as much as I could on behalf of Tank and Wolf, because Ash was safe and alive instead of decomposing among those eerie trees.

‘I’m going to get him to drink some water.’

‘Little bits at a time. Not too much. He’ll throw it up.’ Wolf made a good point.

‘Got it.’

Over the next hour, I got an entire glass of water into him, a couple of sips at a time. He tried to smile every time I told him he was a good boy, and he was gradually getting more coherent. Still confused, but more with it.

He was as settled as he was getting for the state he was in. He wouldn’t want me there once he was fully back in the room mentally, and he would mostly sleep until then. The only place I wanted to be was where I could see him. But it was time to tear myself away before he remembered he didn’t talk to me anymore.

When Tank checked in to see how we were doing, I took that as my cue.

‘I’m going to pee, then I think I should head home.’

‘Carver! Carver, don’t leave me.’

I’d have had to be totally heartless to ignore that level of distress.

‘Or maybe not. Looks like I’m staying. Ash, I still have to pee. I’ll be two minutes.’

‘Don’t leave me.’

‘I’m coming straight back.’

‘Promise.’

‘I promise.’

‘Promise nicer.’

The voice of my sweet demanding brat. I crouched down beside him and waited for him to attempt to focus on me. It still looked like he was trying to figure out which one to look at.

‘Sweetheart, I promise I’ll come straight back. I’m going to pee and get us both some more water and I’ll be right back.’

‘Kay.’

The urge to kiss him on the forehead and tell him how much I loved him, was like a knife in my gut. I used the bathroom time to pull myself together and promise my brain I would process later.
