The Stench is clearing! Opened cupboard to put stuff in compost, got faceful of awful, clued in. Roommate had rebagged green bin stuff, rather than moving raw chicken bone bag elsewhere. It's now outside in a tight lidded bucket. I don't know why they decided to cut meat off bones raw.

The Stench persists. The vinegar makes slightly less awful, but Mystery Smell still strong Roommate took car to Japanese folk dance class It's 5°c outside, and this townhouse has poor air circulation if I open all the windows. The kitchen especially is hard to get fresh air into.

🎵The townhouse has a Mystery Smell My brain has not gone nose blind to it 🎵 Seriously though - we have looked in the feasible kitchen places. It seems to be emanating from empty space between dishwasher and cupboard, just above the floor Like rotting meat or dirty aquarium

Woke up this morning in drenching sweat for first time in a few months. Wanted to go get vaccinated against COVID, but overheated in bathroom before I got out the door, so figured I needed to let my body rest. Now I've got chills, which persist despite putting on more layers, room is 21°c

So close to almost done The hockey puck rope is firmly stuck in the tree 😭 (Safety hazard, ropes tangle wildlife and people; hockey puck if it flies loose is significant weight to get hit in the head with)

Today: drove up, got everything out of tent, tent down. Taking break to eat cold ravioli, then tarp takedown & stuffing car (Last few weeks probably were influenza, rapid tests arrived beyond test window and were negative. Talked to land owner & had car access & wasn't feeling wrecked)
Tent under tarp, bike in foreground, lots of pine needles, no tents visible in distance 40 minutes later, tarp is no longer under tarp. Shirt was shed onto bike because overheating

Saw a post yesterday, got my SAD lamp plugged in last night. And used this morning. Reminder for anyone else who might benefit: find it & start using sooner than later, or acquire one. They are so much more available (and much less expensive) than they were ~2007 when my doctor had to prescribe it

I, grumpy, asked them to put on headphones. Then thought to ask to phone general practitioner for me - they're going to go to office instead, with print out of fax number (to double check if didn't get sent to one of the previous two other clinics associated with my sleep specialists)

Was offered a loom last year, and it lived in friends' garage. Today was take it apart for transport into townhouse. 2 hours. (I looked for and found assembly instructions before I started) Aprons (canvas wrapped around beam) likely to replace, heddle maybe, but will try cleaning first
Nilus Leclerc floor loom before I started. It needs rehabilitation, but bones are good. The apron has mildew and dust, the heddle is rusty.

For anyone getting boosted soon: antihistamines beforehand can decrease feeling awful. Also, I now have clue maybe why I've been looking sunburned after showers and before my gastro flares - got to chase doctor about MCAS. I hadn't thought to mention, as it's been weird but not worst thing

Logged in to try to look for a Costco receipt I can't find. Holy fuck I am beyond savings. Did math, from August 7 to September 3, I put $576.76 on Costco card. I get $250/month. I spent that $250 in first week back from festival

I had been wondering why the cedar was turning yellow, but hadn't really looked until yesterday. So many ripening seeds / cones. Also learned that "cedar nuts" is used to refer to pine nuts by some companies. (Was trying to look up if they were edible, probably not)

Alas, the new to me wheelchair is max 17" between the armrest / clothing protectors, and 18" from ground to seat. My old chair is 20" by 20" It isn't uncomfortable in it, but body let me know after that it was too squishy (hip felt like it had been slightly out of joint)

Someone on local free page is clearing out a house. There was a wheelchair. I figured it was gone. It was still there today. I thought the price difference from $300 wheelchair to $1000 wheelchair was just having cushions, but, fuck it is elegant engineering. And folds smaller. And is lighter.

Got holes drilled for handles, got one door reattached to hinges . I am pouring sweat and overheating despite shower earlier, starting out dry and cool, and the kitchen is only sitting at 21.4°C and 66% humidity. Breakfast, then I guess nap again, because this much sweat is exhausting
5 upper cabinet doors. The left are original veneer over chipboard that need to be taken off, washed, sanded.

Middle skinny door that is slightly open is the one I just reinstalled.

Two right most are ones I did previously, with handles in place.

I wash with spray nine and a powered spin scrub brush - first owner of townhouse was a smoker, and nicotine keeps coming out, despite having previously heavily cleaned them on move in.

Then orbital palm sander to scuff veneer. The. White enamel floor paint. Two or three coats, depending on how things are drying / if I think to do a third.

my allergies just flared wildly ugh. Unsure if it was from walking into cobweb in basement at far end of workshop or aerosolized ragweed and grass from the condo corp grounds crew doing common area. It is amazing how fast mucus can be produced and flow out of my face (I do not like this)

I know we bought the rest of the handles for the upper cabinet doors, but where did roommate put them? 🤷 I thought they were in one of the drawers beneath the cutlery, but that's only the four longer handles (with different screw spacing) Took an existing handle, so I can drill countersink holes

Got the raccoons done to this point before ceremony. And I just realized I can take breaks from reception to work on them more if I want to. (Although my brain also just realized I could go lie down and nap. But also, if I do that, will I remember to come back to reception?)

Partner arrives tomorrow. My gut is unhappy with antibiotics. The only thing I must accomplish today is clear off rest of king sized bed (crafting space!) so they have a place to lie down when they get here. My brain: "what if we wash and sand and re-paint the kitchen floor, as a treat?" 🥹 (NO) 🥺
