Favorite 3d platformer is likely Sulphur nimbus hels elixier, cavern of dream is good but tech is odd to flow through, pseudoregalia is great but i kinda wanting something thats has more your tool kit at start to work with then not (also some very weird inputs for techs {should archi it sometime}

I would play this a lot more if it had more of the systems Kaze Emanuar is implementing buffer and leaniancy (momentum too). Since it default lacks a lot the micro mechanics that make a game like celeste so good to play. (they're working on a hack called returned to yoshis island which has a demo)

For example this is also the ground to air conversion in melee, Rivals 2, rivals 1, celeste, etc. feel a lot better than the more modern smash games which devided movement cant be dynamic.

Something i like about it that a bunch of modern platformers choose not to do is make floor space more vauble than air space. Like gaining speed before jumping, or having room for a triple jump. (i do think the vanilla camera is helped a lot by the d-pad tweaks of hacks to move slightly)

The truely questionable tech i would point to is "double cornerboosts", & "Triple Dream Jumps". As they are the main tech which want players to have more than 2 jump buttons. (that i know of) {though maybe in a slow motion map with alignment they could have a place}

I think it's a lot of how it is designed around what expectations of players who engage with your work. Its unintuitive at first yes but when it becomes intuitive it leads to options of intresting design space. Same with reverses, ultras, & as weird as it is when well thought through c-pops.

OH. right! i get it now!

i get why AI is so depressing to me. because covid already shrunk my world to almost nothing, where almost all of my life revolves around socializing and watching videos on the internet (which is being ruined by AI) and creating creative works through coding (which is being ruined by AI), often using open source tools and libraries (which are being ruined by AI)

i already had so little and now even that is being rotted away before my eyes
