"Find a way to keep the fun in your process!" Looking for ways to engage with your audience this year? Swipe for more advice from Ambassador Ruth ❤️

Ambassador of the month. Citrus Sapling. There is a picture of a green sea creature on a pink background.

Tell us about you. Name: Ruth. Niche: Watercolor illustrator. “I'm a watercolour artist with a focus on weird and underrepresented creatures, creating stationery, accessories, and more!”

One piece of advice. “Find a way to keep the fun in your process. We can't always rely on motivation, but we can find ways to make things smoother and more enjoyable for ourselves.”

How can I engage my audience "See if you can find a part of what you do that they can get involved with. This could be as simple as asking for input on creative decisions, or asking if they have questions about your process.”

I will not attempt to troubleshoot this mess and since it’s out of warranty New laptop time it is 🧍‍♂️*sigh*

AME3TTA | PngTuber Elemental @am3tta.bsky.social · 12/01/2026

Well, bios update failed and laptop is unusable I spent a whole day troubleshooting, manage to get CachyOS working, only to have this happen. Am frankly done with this laptop which despite being newer than my Toshiba from 2015, is somehow performing worse than it The Bios is the last straw

Completely flew under my radar. Wow, how come website/app owner(s) that allow users to create and share their own content seem to not understand that they shouldn’t infringe on other’s right to speak/share/create the content? Fix the damn tag system instead of whatever the f- this is 😐

TELL bsky you have an issue with this! 1) KEEP talking about it - don't let this issue fade away 2) Submit feedback to bsky! TELL them its not okay! On PC: on the right under "trending" On mobile: on the left under "settings" 2/🧵

Do NOT believe the misinfo going around There absolutely have been MASSIVE TOS updates Most notably: 1) Specifying no FICTIONAL noncon 2) No "dangerous" kink 3) No DISCUSSING self harm, suicide, or substance abuse unless its "educational" So what can we DO about it? #SaveSpeech 1/🧵

Multiple cropped screenshots showing portions of the bsky TOS before and now. Before: "iv. Encouraging self-harm or suicide
v. Depictions of excessive violence, gore, torture, dismemberment, or non-consensual sexual activity". Now: "ii. We do not allow sexual content involving non-consensual activity including synthetic, simulated, illustrated, or animated versions. iv. Do not create, share, or promote sexual content involving realistic risk of death or serious injury. i. Do not share content, methods, instructions, or promotion of self-harm, suicide, eating disorders, and extreme dieting practices.
ii. Do not share methods, instructions, depictions, or promotion of dangerous stunts or abuse of dangerous or controlled substances. 5. Protected Expression
B. Support, Recovery, and Mental Health:
i. Personal recovery experiences or survivor stories shared to promote healing and community support rather than encouraging harmful behavior.
ii. Sharing verified mental health resources, crisis prevention".

An article everyone participating in #blueskyblackout2025 should read: www.newstatesman.com/science-tech...

This is where most social media boycotts go wrong: they fail to realise that silence on a platform is nothing but silence. While the campaign surrounding the boycott may do some of the work they hope to achieve or the problems they hope to reveal, leaving a platform and cutting off a voice advocating for change simply means that voice stops being heard. The effective part isn’t leaving – it’s the conversation. When people posted nothing but black squares on Instagram, users stopped talking about institutional racism; when public figures left Twitter for two days over the Wiley anti-Semitism row, users spent the weekend talking about anything else

This effort becomes even more futile when accounts eventually return, thereby reinforcing the idea that, regardless of how the platform responds – or fails to respond – to the boycott, people will continue to use it as they did before. Returning to sites lets social media giants off without any repercussions, killing momentum and incentivising platforms to merely wait the boycott out.

While the intentions of boycotts may be positive, we have to ask: what do these organisations think will happen? That their temporary silence, with an end date scheduled from the start, will yield major changes or subdue abusive users?

It’s easy to carry out light-touch boycotts, pat ourselves on the back and act as though we have made an impact. But by viewing this ineffective form of protest as useful action, we move further away from the opportunity to make real change.

I get why people want blackouts to be a thing and why y’all delude yourselves into thinking they work. It’s some form of control, some form of protest that is easy and requires less work than submitting feedback, sending emails and making calls. They do not work.

#blueskyblackout2025 is dumb as fuck and won't do anything. Send feedback, complain loudly, share NSFW works, do literally anything BUT being silent. They won't care. Blackouts DO NOT WORK, they never have on soc media platforms because they know you WILL come back. Listen to actual NSFW creators
