Had a great time heading up towards the peak of Mount Jupiter over here on the east side of the Olympic National Forest. It was nice and cool the other day and I got to see most of the Kitsap Peninsula and as far out as Seattle and Mount Tahoma. #olympicnationalforest #hoodcanal #mountain

Got to see the Springtime fungi and flora this last week! Western Panther Amanita, Hairy Manzanita, Western Wild Ginger, and Toothed Cup Fungus. #botany #mycology #flowers #mushrooms

A cream colored mushroom with a bulbous bottom on the stipe, a cream colored skirt on the stipe, and many gills underneath a tan colored cap with many white warts.

A small bundle of bell shaped flowers hanging down from a large and hairy green leaves shrub.

A dark red to purple flower with three very pointy petals, with a center that is mostly white in color with very tightly packed stamens.

A light brown to tan cup shaped fungus that has a smooth interior and a rough sandpaper looking exterior and individual tooth-like protrusions around the top of the fungus.

I got to finally see my first Morel mushroom in the wild this last Thursday as well as seeing some False Morel, lots of Stalked Bonfire Cups, and lots of Evergreen Violets. #mycology #botany

I got to see these wonderful things this last week. An Oregon Fawn-lily, Brittle Cinder Fungus, Douglas Squirrel, American Beaver. #botany #mycology #mammology

A flower with a green stem that is holding the flower petals in a drooping manner with the petals being white in color and the middle of the flower being small streaks of orange and yellow with vibrant yellow stamens.

A gray crust like fungus with a lighter gray edge surrounding the fungus fruiting with several patches out of some decaying wood.

A large Lewis' Moon Snail that has a creamy white shell and mostly tan body that is somewhat buried in the sea floor and surrounded by algaes and rocks.

A small collection of dark blue mushrooms that have long stipes that are lighter blue in color and have a dark blue line around the bottom of their caps

Orange club like fungi that grow out from cedar duff in a single or grouped way

Teal and cup shaped fungi with dark green or blue oily excretions that sit within the fungi and the fungi are in a small group growing out from decaying wood

In August of last year, I got to see an assortment of different insects and these four were the best to me. Great Golden Digger Wasp (Sphex ichneumoneus), Woodland Skipper (Ochlodes sylvanoides), Dorcadion Bee Fly (Exoprosopa dorcadion), Paddle-tailed Darner (Aeshna palmata). #insects #entomology

In 2022, I started slowly photographing insects that were around my local area. These three were probably the most notable finds. Orange-legged Furrow Bee (Halictus rubicundus), Western Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio rutulus), and a Pale Beauty (Campaea perlata). #insects #entomology

For my recent slime mold find, here is Honeycomb Coral Slime Mold (Ceratiomyxa fruticulosa) which is considered a Eumycetoza because it doesn't enclose its spores in a container but rather, grows them on tiny columns on the outside of its fruit bodies, unlike what myxomycetes do. #slimemold
