Don't know enough about the actor, but Namor is not a predator, don't spout bs. He is in fact a canonical rape victim, which Sue would downplay just like she downplayed Johnny's rape (and in fact befriended his rapist). None of this is a shade at Sue, but writers who push it on her and Namor.

That's why Magneto can commit mass murder during Fatal Attractions for no reason other than be an asshole (ooc writing obv but still) but that never being addressed while Namor kills people under Phoenix influence and destroys other earths to buy time heroes to find other solutions

so instead they made him Romani and were antiziganistic instead because that's TOTALLY better (???). That's just nature of comics, especially mainstream comics. Marginalized characters don't get benefit of nuance and those that do are usually those who are appealing to white cis American audiences.

Yeah, Namor is literally "the original angry young man" character "othered" by both his and American people for being biracial. He's an inverse Superman (intentionally so too). Racism is baked into him obv even in OG GA comics, but they were still quite empathetic and asking readers

Furthermore Sue nonsense itself is not only deeply rooted in yellow peril propaganda tropes, but even by Kirby's intent wasn't meant to be seen as Namor being a villain, but a troubled, lonely outsider yet with kind heart. It's not really the same as Magneto who for years was Adolf Hitler parody.

Poem is different. For one, I remember Arthur being softer person, more of an actual equal who treats Gawain with more consideration and banter. A lot of themes and some moments overlap tho, so movie is modern reinvention through and through.
