Finished two quick spins. I love them both. Fibre is hand-dyed by my nikkislipp on Etsy. These are awesome, fun 4oz. combos. Both almost the same yardage @ 267yds & 260yds. Both sport weight. I'm thinking they will knit up into nice simple cowls. #handspinning #handspun #EEW6 #fibre #handspunyarn

This past Thursday I had 20 staples removed and only some of the stitches. Doc decided that the centre section needed more healing and put me on antibiotics. The swelling is still incredible, but it's only been 2.5 weeks since surgery. I do feel like #handspinning now, though...maybe even #knitting

I was really looking forward to this year’s #tourdefleece but I broke my stupid leg last Saturday. A tibial plateau fracture, no less. Had surgery late Tuesday night. 1 plate and 2 screws, I’m told. Non weight bearing for 6-8 weeks. 😣 Have fun fellow spinners. #handspinning #tourdefleece2025

I spun a sample weighing 27 grams @ 16wpi and approx. 92 yards (which should give me approx. 1,545 ypp) to swatch for the sweater intended for this fibre. A fingering two-ply (one ply of Ashford merino/silk Sorbet and one ply of Ashford merino/silk in Vanilla) I wanted to avoid possible muddiness.

A before and after blast from the past. I spun this back in 2008 and knit my then Jack Russell a sweater. Per my notes, this is a BFL two-ply, worsted weight. The finished spin was pretty much as the braid.

My daughter’s cat is in the forefront, and my son’s is above on the cushion. My son passed away last March two weeks before his 42nd birthday. I miss him terribly. 😞 I’m glad to have his cat, as it feels like she carries his aura. Integrated easily without issues. #cats #furbabies #pets #grieving
