Everyone who complains that "Hollywood is out of ideas" and laments sequels and remakes, wanting new and original stories instead... but hasn't seen a Laika film since Coraline (2009) or Paranorman (2012) (if any of them at all) should never be allowed to say such things again. The history of this game is pretty fascinating. It's the last game of Snowblind Studios (Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance, Champions of Norrath) before they and Surreal Software (Drakan, LotR Fellowship) were absorbed into Monolith productions (Blood, No One Lives Forever, FEAR, and Middle-Earth series).

The ironic thing is when people talk about M$ gutting almost the entire Halo (formerly 343) Studios team... people are much less sympathetic. My guess is because they had about 20 years to right that ship but kept screwing it up. "Activision can't do much worse" is the running concession.
