"Summer already over, extra quick this year"? Speak for yourself! We've had not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, but 5 heatwaves in France this summer... Suffice to say it didn't feel quick ☠️

But at the same time they create AGI for the first time every six months. Like.. pick a lane, people! Remember when Sam Altman used a 2001 space odyssea trailer to introduce a "revolutionary" model that turned out pretty meh? This people have been doing it since 2023...

Hahaha I'm surprised how niche this XKCD is. Surprised in a good way! Didn't think this kind of joke would be mainstream enough even for us nerds :p

Fun concept, nice visuals! But if I may, isn't the laser a few pixels too far from the character's eye? As it stands it looks more like it spawn out of thin air. It's the tiniest of nitpicks haha, best of luck!

Sorry, I prefer my signs in % of my own remaining route. To *really* keep me on my toes as to what the values mean. Of course, we'd need dynamic LCD signs and wireless data transfer, but when there is an useless gadget to try out, you can count on your local representatives to waste money on it!

Hahaha I know the feeling! You're working on gameplay systems. Making too many variations of the same thing (weapons, here) would be too early. But then you end up always using the same thing. A classic :D

Looks fantastic! This has character. At first glace, as a player, I would be worried about how hit registration works for melee attacks (since, you know, pseudo flat 2D characters fighting in 3D is hard to perfectly read on screen), but maybe that's a concern that dissapears through gameplay.

Sounds like "boycotting GTA6", and, "Support the fired workers" are two unrelated things since they are, you know, fired.

"Programmed to be honest" is a WILD statement bordering on religious fanatism when talking about an LLM. I hope nobody buys this game. I might though, just to leave a negative review before refunding it.

It looks great! Although on the portrait side the spit looks tiny in comparison to its visual & effect on the world haha

That looks absolutely fantastic, well done! The model and animation were nice, but I believe that it's the shader work that puts it to the next level. It looks almost hand drawn.

Well, we all need our breaks, that for sure! But it's worth bearing in mind that very few things were ever achieved by people who had a "can't do" attitude.

That's applicable to any product, really. If customers are all very satisfied with the product, but few try it, then clearly the people who make the product work aren't the issue...

Honestly you could apply the same logic to any large US corporation, it's not just the games industry. It all comes from your "at-will employment", which in itself is just double speech for at-will dismissal. It creates a country where the psychopaths of the C-suite can act on their impulses.

I feel you 100%, but I gotta ask, is that really a thing yet? AI companies scrapping games? Outside of browser games, I'm not sure how you would do that. Are we talking about the assets? Because the decompiled code will thankfully not be the original with pretty variables names, comments, and logic.

Executives are stuck in a time-loop of hollowing out the company, leaving an empty husk of a brand/franchise/whatever, and wondering why the games just don't sell as much anymore. Then squeezing those who remain, or blowing up the marketing budget to try to compensate.

"a lie so debasing to tell, that the act of telling it proves the teller's total and humiliating submission" What a way with words! It is so refreshing hearing something from the US that isn't the bumblings of a moron, whatever side may say it.

Damn the Subnautica 2 EULA truly is something. I didn't even know (still don't) that you could have a EULA apply to a gameplay video's viewers merely for displaying some words at its beginning. A EULA pandemic🤣 And no, it's not typical EULA BS. I have never seen this (& more) #Subnautica2 #Gamedev
"Any Gameplay Video must include the following prominent disclaimer either at the beginning of the Video or, if live-streaming, near the Video in a visible font: "This video is subject to the Game's Terms of Service and was not endorsed or sponsored by KRAFTON, Inc."" from the official website.

Serious side note: This is the next meta for climate deniers. As it gets more and more ridiculous, expect to see more of this type of data manipulation & cherry picking. We're officially entering the "Yes it exists, and it's not a big deal" phase of climate denying goalpost moving.

TLDW: Today I will prove that climate "activists" are fearmongering, because the data shows that it's not getting warmer; Instead, the data shows that it is getting... less cold. As you can clearly see, since I made a 30 min video, my point is made. Can't make this shit up! 😂
