But because she's 'Maka' (and we got to see him initiate the handholding after it was established that he's the kind of person who would normally keep people at arm's length, so UGH the symbolism right there)

For me personally the arc felt more like an expansion of chapter 1, except this time with the clarification that Soul really, really had made her an important part of his being and that he's not just sticking with her because she's his meister

Idc that people (especially those who don't care about this ship) often rag on this arc because Maka is yet again undergoing another low after some highs (personally it made her feel realistic to me even if it was a retread of a previous issue)

The Envy-Sloth chapters be like: How much of a chokehold do Maka and Soul have on each other: the special

34.) Hmmm...that's a hard one, I guess I really loved The Martian? As much as movies that always made me feel good and satisfied watching. Its simple premise notwithstanding

-for once on Maka since he's finally felt more confident in himself and his relationships (and hence no one can't convince me otherwise the end of the manga is where their relationship is finally going to evolve with Soul being more active and receptive in their usual banter-flirt)

I think the fact that after Salvage he finally stopped teasing Maka for her appearance is also a reflection of this beside him becoming more mature. And of course, no one can't convince me otherwise that Soul was intentionally flirting during that final scene and finally the one to make 'a move'--

--I read his confrontation with the Envy!Wes as him finally having to face the fact he needed to finally hold his relationship with Maka closer and stop being such a hedgehog, and hence he was the one offerring to hold her hand later

Can be read as love epiphany moments for them. I think the most interesting turning point is Soul, after spending all his time with Maka up to that point seemingly dodging her 'flirting' (like how he always pushes everyone away in general) ended up being the one initiating things--

Soul and Maka started to have some pretty heavy UST vibes beginning from chapter 63 (mostly Maka's usual subtle flirting becoming more blatant and Soul seemingly dodging her advances?) and I like how Salvage arc seemed to be the culmination of it that the whole Envy and Sloth chapters

Welcome to the club!! Aku sama Mitch udah dari berminggu2 lalu ngobrol terus soal soma 😂

120

Tapi coba bayangin kalo dia bilangnya gini, "Sayang sekali sayap ini beda jauh dengan yang tadi ya, nona bidadari" *blush* "nggak papa kok!" Ampun, mungkin mang lebih baik malaikat aja bakal mampus gw kalo pake kata yg itu XD

120

Oh, he's the submissive one aight 😂 he's basically a guard dog

010

Udahlah Soul, tembak aja. Gak usah malu malu 🤭

Maka's consistently the one doing the romantic endeavors like *cough* calling his gym clothes cute, wanting to be called angel, calling that he has legendary sex appeal *cough* etc. Soul might be the one with the cheesy oneliners, but Maka...lol

010

Coba kalo dibahasain indonesia Maka: panggil aku bidadari dong! Soul: ....
