NPPTL: National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory. Housed in Pittsburgh, PA and Morgantown, WV. The staff at this center research PPE worn by military personnel, first responders, medical staff, miners, and numerous other industries not to mention the general public.

In 2010, the NIOSH Mining Program celebrated 100 years of mining research. NIOSH mining is globally respected because it is impartial. The research doesn’t favor regulators or industry. As of May 20, NIOSH mining has not been reinstated and will end this summer. #SAVENiosh

Did you know… NIOSH partnered with the U.S. Coast Guard, and Crab Fishermen to make their profession less dangerous. Due to overloading, boats would capsize and the fishermen died. NIOSH analyzed this data and the Coast Guard implemented inspections to assess the boats stability. #saveniosh #psrw

So everyone's clear: this is a bald-faced lie. The "required notice" was in fact, a TERMINATION notice required by the WARN Act (one of the few laws compliance is being attempted for) which mandates notice for mass layoffs. NIOSH workers have been placed on admin leave- no work will be conducted.

This post shows the official HHS X account claiming that no CDC employees were terminated Friday, which is misinformation.

Yay! We made the top 100 hoax list. We fixed it for them: Hoax: This admin prioritizes firefighter health. Fact: “Remain” & “intact” aren’t apt words for programs that were gutted. Panic-calling a few folks back TEMPORARILY (who still face massive operational disruption) isn’t a fix. #SaveNIOSH

Over 45 million workers across the United States rely on NIOSH approved respirators to stay safe. As of April 1, due to the Reduction in Force across the Department of Health and Human Services no new applications are being accepted in the Respirator Approval Program. #saveniosh #altgov
