Ever heard of an olive boat? It makes no sense and I absolutely love it 🫒 A very long plate for olive, nuts, or other small snacks on your long dining table during the holidays. #handmade #olive #pottery #clay #pottersofbluesky #whimsy

First cake stand to make it all the way through the glazing process, and I am so happy with how it turned out!! A bit small at 8.25 but my kiln is tiny so 🤷‍♀️ #pottersofbluesky #cake #pottery #clay #glaze #handmade #ceramics

My first cake stand to make it to the glaze firing - thrown as two separate pieces this time. The glaze will fuse them together. She’s in the kiln right now and I am so nervous she will slump! 🤞 Send a prayer up to the kiln gods for me #ceramics #pottersofbluesky #glaze #kiln

This lovely juicer was a refire- originally glazed with just Mayco green tea which came out a bit flat, so I added Amaco’s textured turquoise, did a slow refire to cone 6 and 🤩 #pottersofbluesky #pottery #ceramics #juice #handmade #glaze

Made a test tile cup so I can look at my newest glazes all day without people thinking I’m weird for keeping 20 test tiles in my bag 😅 These are from Coyote’s fantasy glaze series on Georgie’s Pioneer Dark clay #pottersofbluesky #glaze #glazes #pottery #testingtesting

I’m too much of an introvert to enjoy these to their full potential. I need them to go home with a whimsical extrovert who hosts fairy garden parties 🧚 ✨ 🍰 #ceramics #pottersofbluesky #glaze #dinner #homedecor #handmade #whimsical #home

Quick shift to cozy season in the PNW and my tomatoes aren’t happy but I sure am! Mug cookie in a refired mug on brown clay (meaning this particular glaze combo has been twice fired and will likely never be repeated) and the start of my first cardi #handmade #pottery #mug #cookie #pottersofbluesky

Poor air quality and summer colds have had me crocheting more than potting this summer, but I do love this Nori Green mug from my last kiln load. The glaze gets these lovely blue floating spots on darker clay #cozy #handmade #pottery #crochet #ceramics

Snack plate I made with river rocks A friend requested a snack plate, and I wanted to make one that was organic but stackable. I glued river rocks to a drywall bat, added my slab, and dropped it on the floor. I’m going to find some bigger rocks and try again! #pottery #ceramics #handmade #oregon

Bud vase glazed with Tiger’s Eye by Spectrum and a flower from my garden I kept seeing combos with this glaze, turns out it was the Mayco one. This was a happy mistake though- I kinda dig the 70s harvest gold vibe it gives #glaze #pottery #pottersofbluesky #garden

Green tea in the garden 🌿 This cup is glazed with Mayco Black Walnut and Amaco Snow, the areas where they meet react to form a beautiful green #pottersofbluesky #pottery #glaze #tea

I’ve been wanting a nice BIG latte mug and finally made myself one. The blue #glaze is Amaco’s midnight run, which I applied a bit thick but still love. I almost never see folks using this glaze. #pottery #pottersofbluesky #ceramics #handmade #mug

Finally got the second #cigar #ashtray out of the kiln! Glazes are Mayco green tea and black walnut. I usually use this combo on a more vertical surface, so this was an interesting experiment. #handmade #ceramics #pottersofbluesky #glaze

Confession time- this is for a friend who isn’t on Bluesky. We were chatting about #glazes and I’m like, I have so many colors anything you like I probably have! Then she asked for plain white… and I had to buy glaze 😂 Now the little devil on my shoulder is trying to get me to add a fluxy pink rim

Made this thumbprint tumbler for whiskey initially, with an extra thick bottom so you could stick it in the freezer and have a pour cold but still neat. But the brown glaze is so cozy I keep reaching for it when I want an afternoon espresso 🤷‍♀️ #pottersofbluesky #pottery #ceramics #handmade #whiskey

Same #glaze, different #clay. This is one of those test tiles sets that had me realizing how much I prefer darker clay bodies. Both are speckled, but the dark clay is local and contains a volcanic frit rather than manganese (which can be harmful prior to firing). #pottersofbluesky #pottery

New soap dish design is out of the glaze kiln! These have an internal spiral that drains into a deeper outer channel, unlike my previous design (right) which just had three raised rings and a huge puddle underneath over time. #pottery #pottersofbluesky #ceramics #handmade

The ONLY time I’ve had my vote stolen illegally was in the very red state of #Tennessee. My abusive (but charming) mother told the voting center staff she wanted to “show me how to use the machines” since it was my first election. She proceeded to vote red down the line. 1/2

One of the things I love about #pottery is that sometimes you become obsessed with a random form (I don’t even juice things really 🤷‍♀️) and then you can see your progress. That first dark blue one is terrifying but at least it has a #flaredbase #juicer #ceramics

The basalt cobble beach at Yaquina Head in Newport, #Oregon will forever be my favorite beach. The tide pools at low tide are incredible, but I love the sound of the cobbles rolling down when the tide is higher.
