i fear you did not get the point, you cannot compare irl to virtual worlds… you simply do not have the freedom and ability to do everything you want irl as you are very limited by the games- so getting out of that limit using PM or tools is what makes it be a vp not a screenshot only

we are not talking about weird cakes, underbaked cakes, first time cakes- a cake is a cake as long as you put in the work to make it one meaning vp is vp if you take your time to set it up, doing a drive by screenshot thinking something is cool is just pretending to bake a cake but not doing it

i know not everyone will let you but its possible they might just not know a lot of times… but if we are talking about devs and people giving us exposure not seeing the difference- then that is a whole different can of worms we cant do shit about and yeah, that sucks

best way you can fight this is education, i have a friend who is just getting into vp… i saw them post a raw screenshot and instantly told them- hey thats not virtual photography, you are free to post it but its kinda frowned upon if you do it under the tag and they do now know the difference

i love the “omg more cake” theory in any art form, but there is a massive difference between photographing a cake or just the ingredients to make one… they should not be put into the same category just because they make the same final result

i dont mind people using them until a game dev is actively praising those shots before photo mode is even released- and thats not targeting anything specific, just in general but i am probably still caring too much about this, we had a conversation about the peace and freedom of posting on here lol

also we shall not talk about that one game which hosted a vp contest in their demo prior to release but the demo had no photo mode and people won because they literally shoved their hand into the game code to freecam and mostly captured cut scenes i never bought the game after out of principle

i want to make clear that im not judging, same as photography there is many different ways to capture a photo… but if i stick to this comparison, third party tools feel like if you were standing next to another photographer with the same camera but they started to fly to get a better angle than you

you could argue that i do use free camera range mods or tools in tlou sometimes too- i stand by my point that i can understand expanding on a existing photo mode with mods but not completely creating my own

sure third party tools are a great thing but not when the game has no photo mode or has one coming soon, i just kinda find it disrespectful to the devs i say this as someone who takes shots in games and hides the hud by cropping or with in game options, i still capture within the games limits

unpopular opinion but one thing i hate when anticipated games release with no photo mode is that us who stick to photo modes dont get any of the first pat on the back for the shots we take… those who use third party tools do

that is fair... i think after my surgery i do underestimate a lot of other ones but i know this one is scary... i have asked my doc about it plenty of times myself, but imo if it would change the quality of your life its good to look into and know your options! 🤞

heard there is no photo mode on launch in resonant and i am devastated about that on one hand i am glad i get to play the game without the voice in my head telling me to take pictures every few seconds but i am also bummed i wont get to take the pictures yet

i can definitely recommend making use of the accessibility options! especially on your first run before you learn how to really use everything, not dying every few minutes makes the game less frustrating- plus, its one of the best features the game has and will be in resonant too! 😌
