I've been having this thought, too. My empathy for people old enough to know better is exhausted - I'm much more interested in reaching younger people and enabling their critical thinking and resilience. The mess that's coming is going to fall on their shoulders.

Making your own clothes is NOT efficient or economical ... not to mention skill required for quality or fit. It's about self-expression and art, not practicality. A simple, knit, Old Navy equivalent skirt costs $50+ even with cheap materials and rock-bottom minimum $25/hr for skilled labor.
