I was fortunate enough to get to know her personally, and I have some funny stories to tell. She was just a wonderful person, and absolutely gracious to me for over 20 years. This is a devastating loss. She wrote the foreword to my book, The Divine Nine.

As a person who writes, lectures, and has authored a book on racism...can I say this... Folks need to dial back adding 'white supremacy' to everything. "Apple pie is nothing but a colonialist tool rooted in white supremacy." We too often throw around terms w/o understanding the concepts.

I'm most proud of being friends w/every member of every organization on the Berkeley yard in the '80s. We all had big chapters—mine had 35 members at the time—and we all worked together. It also helped that everyone recognized Alphas ran the yard, so ya know... Plus, my turtleneck game was fire.
