This happened a year ago but my dad keeps bringing it up.
I am a 31 year old woman, 30 at the time of the incident, and a psychic medium. I don't advertise that fact very often in fear of being labeled "crazy", but my friends and family know about it and I'm pretty comfortable sharing it with them. I'm not here to argue whether or not you believe mediumship to be real, we are all entitled to our beliefs, I'm just sharing a situation that came about because of it.
My grandma [on my mother's side] was dying of Alzheimers last year and was started on a morphine drip the night of an anniversary tour concert for my dad's fav band. My mom asked me if I could predict whether or not my grandma was going to die that night, because my father was insistent on not missing the concert. I got really upset at her even asking me to do such a thing, stating that being there for my grandma while she was dying was more important than a stupid band.
Admittedly, I didn't have a strong feeling that she'd pass that night, but I didn't want to say anything on principal alone, or in fear that this would turn into a stupid argument about whether my abilities were "real".
I really just wanted to focus on my grandma and to make her feel loved as she passed. My mother ended up staying the night with my grandmother and I instead of going to the concert. ![At the time I held firm that I did the right thing in refusing to predict/ask spirit about her death, but a year later and my dad still brings it up bitterly both in a way to make me feel bad for costing them so much money [approx 300ish per ticket], and to showcase how I'm not "legitimate" like my family believes me to be, despite all the other times I've proved it to them by speaking with spirit.
I refuse to tell them about my gut feeling in fear of him saying that was "convienent" and I still stand by the fact that spending that time with my grandma was more important, but I'm getting sick and tired of him holding this over my head.
