Grim Salvo and Witchouse 40k - VOIDST★R Horrorcore rap which might sound a horrific idea to some but is actually pretty listenable when it's pissing it down and you're in a bad mood which is a frequent occurrence for me. open.spotify.com/album/5iSsvk...

Banshee - BIRTH OF VENUS You listen to a song like do i really scare you and you'd think this is just an pop / EDM album. It is not; Banshee is angry and she's makes that point clearly. Wasn't so keen on her album this year sadly. open.spotify.com/album/1VBKFr...

Wisp - Pandora Technically only an EP but she hasn't released an album... yet. Proper shoegazy rock that kinda reminds me of early Deftones, I want a full album and a European tour next year please. open.spotify.com/album/47rlAB...

lor2mg - Sunny Paws I have to admit my bias here cos @lor2mg.bsky.social is a good friend of mine, but this album is severely under rated. Summery, almost jazzy in places, it reminds me of Luscious Jackson and maybe even Gotan Project. Highly recommended. open.spotify.com/album/2ImC79...

Goo Munday - 9 Lives This one is from 2019, but another one I only found this year. Glitchy electropop reminscent of Crystal Castles without the abuse allegations, this is full of bangers. Hoping for more next year. open.spotify.com/album/4RuGgp...

Snow Strippers - April Mixtape 3 So this is an album from 2023, but I only found out about them this year. Almost cheesy EDM / Pop but such high energy and so listenable. Were pretty great when I saw them live too. open.spotify.com/album/56hrhz...

Molchat Doma - Belaya Polosa Their last album was the soundtrack to ever gloomy Soviet / Eastern European reel on insta. This one is a bit more upbeat but has that same wonderful post-punk sound. open.spotify.com/album/60B6wB...

Black Dresses - LAUGHINGFISH An album made by a duo who apparently split five years ago, it's hard to nail this down to a genre. Loud, noisy, screamy. One to crank up when you want to get rid of the overthinking. open.spotify.com/album/4YTPZq...

Рушана - уф! Yes it's Russian and it's pretty effing obscure but if you can get past that it's a beautiful melancholic pop album for the colder weather and darker nights. She's got such a beautiful voice; I've had it on repeat the last month. open.spotify.com/album/3G43XR...

Charli XCX - BRAT Easiest one to choose, cos it's the best album released this year IMO. She got this spot on - not only the hedonism but the vulnerability too. The additional tracks in the deluxe version & the remixes were bob on. Favourite gig this year too. open.spotify.com/album/2lIZef...

Sorry about that, apparently a girl in a bikini is a bit much as a pic for a Snow Strippers playlist

Too old for this weather and this time of the morning. I need to move somewhere warm.

View looking towards Birmingham from Deritend. Dark sky as the sun hasn’t come up yet and a little snow on the ground.
