An Indian Lily Moth for your day.

A photograph of an Indian Lily moth. They have velvety black wings with beautiful grey, cream, yellow, pink, and purple patterns on them. They look a bit like an asymmetrical abstract piece of art or a quilt. The thorax has yellow spots. The upper wing has 4 black dots twith a pink outline, underneath that is a cream line with a darkened black edge. the bottom of their wings have wavy cream lines that lead to purple and silver splotches, that lead to more cream on the wing. Yellow dots line the very bottom of the wing. A boomerang shape is on either side of the outer wing. It's cream and inside is a pink and purple boomerang line.

Check out this unusual cockroach. It's called panchlora regalis. Photo by Jérémie Lapèze.

Photograph of a white cockroach. It's very unusual...almost pretty. It's a pearlescent white with blue spots on either side near its head. Going further down the body there are 2 brown lines and a few brown spots symmetrically placed on the outer parts of the wings.

Here's my face.

Photo of a woman taking a bathroom selfie. She has a messy fro and is holding her phone up. She does a peace sign and is smiling and winking. I am she. The woman is me.

Good morning from me and my beautiful avocado.

Picture of a hand holding the prettiest avocado. Very green. Very few blemishes. Just beautiful.

Another picture of that same hand holding that same beautiful avocado. There is a spot of sunlight on it.

I should be writing but...moths. A green tiger moth and a blue tiger moth.

Photograph of a green tiger moth [chlorhoda tricolor]. This moth's legs are orange and black striped. Its head is fluffy and green with orange edges. Its wings are green and slightly see through. The entire edge of the moth's wings have a yellow line. The wings have random black splotches that look like charcoal marks on it.

Photograph of a blue tiger moth. This moth is a baby blue with a lot of navy/midnight blue patterns on the wings. The pattern looks a bit like a Rorschach test or tie dye. There's a yellow line on the top of its head. The thorax is pale blue and dark blue stripes with yellow near the bottom. The bottom of the wings have yellow splotches that look like dripping paint along the bottom of the wings.

and a few more:

A photograph of a rosy maple moth. This adorable moth is very fuzzy. Its head and thorax are fluffy and yellow while its legs are pink. The patterns on the wings are a bright pink, then yellow, and then pink again at the bottom edge of the wings.

Photograph of a comet moth. This is a large bright yellow moth with 4 spots (one spot on each wing) that resemble eyes. At the very tip of the upper wings is a grey splotch. There is a "tail" at the end/bottom of the lower wings. The tails are yellow but with a brown marking. It's the long tail that gives this moth its name.

A photograph of a luna moth. A large moth with wings that look like mint green leaves. There is a thick dark brown outline along the top edge of the larger wings. Along the bottom edge of each wing is a thin magenta line. The upper wings have an eye shaped spot on each that has a black line on top and a white line underneath. This moth has a "tail" on both of the lower wings.

A photograph of an oleander hawk moth. This moth has an interesting wing type that looks a bit thinner and sharper than some moths. The wings are a bit thinner even though the moth has a large thorax. The moth is a mix of dark green, light green, brown, and cream. The patterns are sporadic and the moth looks a bit like an army camo uniform.

Moths. Every single one of them.

Photograph of a deaths-head hawk moth. This moth's wings are a dark grey mixed with brown (almost black) with splotches of yellow randomly placed on the wings. There are yellow stripes on the black thorax. Behind the moth's head is a yellow splotch that resembles a skull, hence the moth's name.

A photograph of a cecropia moth. This beautiful moth has an orange head, orange legs, and an orange and white striped thorax. The wings are brown with beautiful patterns. On the tips of each wing are black dots and thin black lines. Closer inward are faded orange lines and a large spot that is beige and orange and outlined with a black. In the under wings where the faded orange lines were in the wings above, is now a prominent red and beige line with the same large orange and beige spots.

A photograph of a picasso moth. This moth is white with a beautiful abstract pattern. There is a long yellow vertical line going down each wing. On the edges of the wing are turquoise splotches placed randomly. Below are black abstract lines and two prominent splotches of light brown and red circles. There are a few spots on the inner wing. It looks like an abstract painting!

Photograph of a black witch moth. This moth is various shapes of brown with intricate purple, blue, and cream colored spots and patterns. From a distance it looks all brown. Up close, you can see a wavy light cream, blue, and purple line that goes all along the wings in an horizontal [slightly diagonal] pattern. There are small dark dots just above that line. Below the wavy line are more lines but they are black and brown with a few black, brown, and purple squiggles and spots near the wings' edges.

Kingston town~

Photograph of a large cloud in the sky and the city of Kingston, Jamaica below. The cloud is covering a lot of the city, but there's a bright bit of sunshine beaming down on a little field near a road and some rows of houses. In the distance is the side of a hill, and a view of St. Catherine Parish further away. Photo taken by me. Jamaica, 2013.
