I hate getting political in public, but seriously. Our aviation system is the BEST in the world and to start trying to throw blame for something from YEARS ago... Are there problems with ATC and the FAA? Sure, and we can fix them, but not by blaming others.

Its surely not because someone has an agenda to make money somewhere. Surely its not that. Do you want air travel cost more? Privatize ATC. Use of the airspace then costs money to those facilities instead of paid with taxes, not to mention GA would shrink more too.

The president going on TV today calling ATC controllers failure or DEI hires that shouldnt have their job is disgraceful. The men and women who work every day to help aviation safety should not be disrespected like this.

I just want to point out, the USA has the BEST, and i mean THE BEST, air system. Having flown in other countries, they dont even come close. That is due to not only the public/national ATC system, but the wonderful training and skill of the men and women that work at our ATC

My heart goes out to my friends and PSA, to that crew and pax, helicopter, and to everyone involved with this latest aviation incident. I know just how hard it can be to spot a helicopter. Terrible accident.

They are being transparent. A threat was made, they're responding accordingly. You can infer what the threat is or was and act accordingly. These measures are no more than you would deal with going through an airport or any other major venue.

I understand what you're saying but... its a metal detector and you're not allowed to have weapons in the con space. Im not quite sure how that qualifies as a privacy violation. Its less "invasive" as the TSA is going to be with your things anyways.

This still hasnt even touch on the fact that furry and the sub groups for it have exploded in numbers in the past few years too.

The problem still become the casual user who isnt up to date on all the new 18+ groups for various this or that gets left behind because they cant join private instances or groups and if they need to be verified it depends if they trust said groups process for it.

VR (at least VRC) has a higher player cap than most regions in secondlife now, but you have to know what groups to be in to get into those places. Not to mention you cant just join on a single night to most of those places that are 18+ since those groups want some sort of ID verification.

This is one of those problems that cant really be fixed in a short time. SL had the solution of "clubs" you went to instead of making your own instances. As long as you knew where to go, you got in. VR has somewhat solved this with group instances, but the player cap becomes the holdback
