Well unfortunately that's the end of quite an epic trip! Was gone for 18 days and in that time visited 13 countries (6 of them new) and ticked off 90 stations 😁 I've not worked out the miles yet but it will be a lot! 🇬🇧🇧🇪🇩🇪🇦🇹🇸🇰🇨🇿🇩🇰🇸🇪🇫🇮🇪🇪🇱🇻🇱🇹🇵🇱

Well somehow I made it! 21 minutes late in the end and I even had time for a photo 😁 Now let's go to Brussels! 🇧🇪

Time to see if Deutsche Bahn can behave one last time on this trip! This train has an average delay of 37mins and I have a 26min change in Köln. Will I make it? 🤔

Sadly it's time to head home today 😢 But there's still enough time for a quick wander around Berlin before that! 🇩🇪

With the usual route from Warsaw to Berlin shut for engineering works I had to get a little creative with my route last night! A loco hauled PKP train to Krzyż where I then had 3 hours on DMUs to Berlin Liechtenberg, with a change in Kostrzyn at the border! 🇵🇱🇩🇪

Of course the main reason to be in Warsaw today is the European Tram Driver Championships! Very fun watching some tram bowling as well as the other events 🚊🎳

Quick explore of Białystok before my next train, very nice place and the cat seemed to agree too 😁

Just a short stay in Vilnius as I'm leaving towards my 29th country: Poland! 🇵🇱 Changed at the border station in Mockava which is where the track gauge changed from Russian gauge to standard gauge, thrn my first Polish train took me to Białystok! 😁

Country 28: Lithuania! 🇱🇹 Sadly my luck with the weather has ran out and it rained the whole time, but that didn't stop me having a lovely morning exploring Vilnius 😁

Some trains from Riga yesterday! 🇱🇻 There's a mix of newer Skoda trains on the electrified lines, but also some old ex Soviet trains on the unelectrified lines! 🔥

My last Estonian train took me over the border this evening into my 27th country: Latvia! 🇱🇻 Time for some sleep then tomorrow I'll be exploring Riga 😁

Stopped off at Estonia's 2nd largest city today, Tartu! 🇪🇪 Very beautiful, as most of Estonia seems to be!

Narva is a really beautiful place! 🇪🇪 There's Narva Castle but also it's only 100m away from the Ivangorod Fortress in Russia 🇷🇺 It's quite surreal being so close to the border!

Time to try some Estonian trains 🇪🇪 Most of their fleet are these Stadler FLIRT units which I had on the journey from Tallinn to Narva!

Wow Tallinn is amazing! 🇪🇪 Probably my favourite place on this trip so far 😍

Very nice journey which has taken me to my 26th country: Estonia! 🇪🇪 Now time to explore Tallinn

Sadly it’s time to leave Finland and slowly start heading towards home And of course the best way to do that starts with a ferry to a required country 😁

Had a nice hour in Tampere to explore and get some lunch before my next train to Turku! 🇫🇮

Next on today’s trip is a Pendolino Plus train! These were built for the international trains to Russia so are 2mm narrower than Finnish and 2mm wider than Russian gauge so they could run on both. Now they’ve been redeployed to Finnish intercity services and are very nice 😁

Got a few stations ticked on Helsinki’s commuter trains this morning before my train further Very frequent service using some nice Stadler FLIRTs They’ve got a very wide interior which just shows how much bigger the Finnish loading gauge is compared to the UK!

Took the sleeper last night from Kemi to Helsinki 🇫🇮 A very comfortable journey and only cost €55.50 with my interrail!

Next up, a train over the border from Sweden to Finland 🇸🇪🇫🇮 This service only started a month ago so I got very lucky as this trip was planned long before then 😂 7 double decker coaches might be slightly overkill as there were only about 20 people getting on

Last Norrtåg train 🇸🇪 Very nice journey from Luleå to Haparanda! This is another 250km/h line for some reason but this little 2 car trains didn’t get above 170 😂 Time for a new country now 😁

With most of the day unplanned today of course I ended up ticking off a few random stations 😂 Sunderby sjukhus ✅ Älvsbyn ✅ Kalix Västra ✅ Luleå C ✅ Notviken ✅ Most only have 3-4 trains a day so it’s always fun getting some piddly stations visited 😁

At Umeå it was just a quick change onto Norrtåg taking me to Boden! 🇸🇪 Boden is a major junction station here and I’ll probably come back when I do the line to Narvik

Time to head north! An SJ 3000 train taking me on the scenic journey from Stockholm to Umeå 🇸🇪 Interestingly the faster part of the route is further north with some new bits of 250km/h high speed line but at the moment nothing goes over 200km/h until some new trains arrive.

I went to Stockholms östra to try out the Roslagsbanan, a very fun narrow gauge train network in north east Stockholm A nice mix of older trains and newer Stadler ones, both were very good! And of course I got a few more stations ticked off here 😁

After Copenhagen yesterday I took the Öresundståg to Lund where I changed for one of SJ’s X2000 trains to Stockholm! 🇸🇪 Ended up arriving 98mins late in the end as we had to divert via Åstorp but it was a very comfy train for the 5h journey

Well that was a long one! Just over 11 hours from Praha Hvlaní Nádraží 🇨🇿 to København Hovedbanegård 🇩🇰 and surprisingly made it only 9mins late despite 7 hours in Germany. Went surprisingly quickly and managed to have a quick break in Hamburg to get some food 😁
