Which means I have to walk to Booths today to pick up the Christmas book instead of tomorrow when the weather’s nicer. But he is installing the fans for free (actually a pack of mini eggs) so I can’t complain. But it’s raining today and Booths is an hour and a half round trip walk. Sigh.

Had a panicked morning of cleaning, putting away three months worth of clean laundry and using it to switch out summer/winter PJs and loungewear, cleaning both bathrooms, putting makeup on… only for the friend who was due to replace my bathroom vent/fans to message asking if he can come tomorrow 🙃

I mean, I liked Stargate: Universe because it was trying something different and I wish we'd had at least once more series of it but SG-1 is the GOAT you know. Don't Practical Magic 2 this shit and miss the vibe that made the original work in the first place.

Also can we not make it sad and/or gritty, because part of why I loved Stargate is even when it was emotionally crushing, it liked to pat you on the hand after and say it's okay, the bad guys didn't win, even when the good guys die they generally hang around making a lovable nuisance of themselves.

I have the Roger Federer one which apparently is worth around $20 so hey, at least I'd make my money back (except I'll never sell it 😂). Wish I'd kept a few more for nostalgia. They were pretty cute, even if they are worthless financially.

Ugh that's exactly it! Now I know why it annoys me so much; it's literally pouring money away so they can go look at my shiny, it's more expensive than your shiny. At least when people spend money on hobbies, it's because they love the thing and are passionate about it.

I thought they must be uncomfortable! Back when I wore watches, I was so delighted when I discovered Swatch because the thin + plastic was like wearing air. Every metal watch I had over the years was annoying and they weren’t even half the size of men’s watches. I don’t get it.

Can we just let them wear the entire range of jewellery, please. They clearly crave the shiny. Let them wear the silly earrings. Alternatively someone needs to explain to them about crafts and hobbies.

I will never understand the obsession rich guys have with fancy watches. Like. Yes it’s shiny. Yes it’s slightly different shades of shiny. But they all look basically the same. They tell the time. I honestly can’t tell why one shiny metal watch differs from another metal watch.

I did get this TV third-hand in 2017 and it was our main TV for three housemates for eight years, so I can’t be too annoyed.

They still haven’t fixed the roof, the windows, or the bathroom but it’s still a very cute house. I do regret not getting all that original Victorian character.

Oh okay, looking back at my emails I did pay £32 for a bottle of Tanzanite Sky from them in 2020 (when I went stationery mad to cope with you know, 2020). But that was the big 50ml bottles they used to do, in a pretty round box & bag. This is 38ml in the silly flat bottles that want to fall over.

The closest I've come to paying that for ink was a few of the Colorverse sets and they were around £30 for two inks, plus a cool box full of extras. Forty pounds for one FWP ink is wild.

My mother just panicked because I didn't answer the phone for an hour and a half (during my work day, my phone was in my handbag from going to town earlier) and called my brother who messaged me to ask if I was alive. An hour and a half.

I caved and let her in. 🙃 She used to run out of the room if she was sleeping in here and I got into bed! I think she's just realised I'm a convenient hot water bottle.

Padmé’s slept with me for the last week (after months of loving her bed in the lounge) and I’ve been getting progressively more exhausted to the point where tonight I was like no, I need a night’s sleep where I can roll over so I’ve shut her out. The crying. Oh my god.
