The latest @home-assistant.io update brought an amazing improvement to automation editing. By putting the node config in a separate frame, it's so much easier to edit parameters while still keeping view of the overall automation flow. Such a seemingly small change with massive usability impact!

The training data for these has huge amounts of clickbait headlines them. The prevalence of "X things that most people never[...]" style headlines is manifesting in the AI but through a positive, encouragement framing. I wonder what other clickbait sentence structures show up in neat ways

Let's play a fun game of "which color indicates the selected state?" Clicking anywhere on the control toggles it, so you can't just click on one side to be sure

A screenshot from a website cookie preferences dialogue. The toggle controls are colored in all grey-tones, making it challenging or impossible to determine whether an option is on or off. This is a case where users of assistive technology (which might be you if you're reading this) would have a much easier time with this, as it would simply tell you if it's on or off! Wait is this how BlueSky has always looked? If the content is fixed width, I'd much rather be able to have the left nav buttons have text labels. I don't know what half those buttons do and there isn't even a hover tooltip?? Where is the universal UX element to expand the sidebar to have text??

LedFx running on a RPi Zero, controlling LEDs via DDP to a WLED controller. The audio<->LED synchronization is accomplished via Snapcast! One snapclient outputs to the speakers while the other outputs to LedFx, allowing me to tweak the exact sync offset (it’s still a teeeeeny bit off in this vid)

Renaming the @home-assistant.io ESPHome addon to "ESPHome Compiler" made things click in to place in my brain after YEARS of using it. The addon is *just* for compiling firmware, and has nothing to do with the device <--> HA connection! Naming things well is VERY important!
